The Drop-out Fuse and Pull Load Drop-out Fuse are the pinnacle of outdoor high-voltage electrical protection. They are essential protectors against transformer and line short circuits, overload conditions, and enable efficient current management for opening and loading. Featuring an innovative design, the drop-out fuse consists of an insulating bracket and fuse tubes, with static contacts securely held at each end, while elegantly attached moving contacts are positioned at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube includes an advanced inner arc tube, along with a durable outer phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth tube. The Pull Load Drop-out Fuse is notable for its enhanced versatility, featuring auxiliary contacts and a specially crafted arc chute for smooth current load transitions.
During regular operations, the drop-out fuse is firmly locked in a closed position, with the fuse tube under exact tension. When system faults occur, the fault current acts rapidly, blowing the fuse which creates an arc. This vigorous arc ignites the arc tube, releasing a significant volume of gas and creating high pressure within the tube to form a vertical wind path that skillfully stretches and elongates the arc. As the fuse blows, the moving contact releases, gracefully rotating outwards while the locking mechanism disengages, letting the fuse tube drop to achieve a decisive breaking position. For load pulling, an insulating rod is used to draw out the moving contact while maintaining linkage with the static contact. With continuous force application, auxiliary contacts separate, creating an arc that stretches within the hood slit. The drop-out fuse cutout features robust insulating supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts strategically secured on both sides and moving contacts expertly attached at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube includes a sophisticated internal arc-extinguishing tube, complemented by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout also incorporates high-performance, elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient on-off load current switching.
In typical operating scenarios, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube remains tightly closed. When faults are detected, the fault current rapidly melts the fuse, generating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing substantial gas volumes and creating high pressure to elongate the arc within the tube. Once melted, the moving contact loses tension, allowing the mechanism to lock, and the fuse tube gracefully drops out, transitioning to an open position. For cutout load switching, operators deftly use an insulating operating bar to draw the moving contact. Initially, the main contact remains engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact is further pulled, an electric arc forms between them, extending within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing mechanism expels gas to efficiently extinguish the arc as the current passes through zero.
