In typical operational scenarios, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube remains securely closed. Upon fault detection, the fault current acts with precision, swiftly melting the fuse and generating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube. This results in the release of substantial volumes of gas, creating high pressure to elongate the arc within the tube. Once melted, the moving contact loses tension, triggering the mechanism to lock and allowing the fuse tube to gracefully drop out, transitioning to the open position. For cutout load switching, operators skillfully use an insulating operating bar to draw the moving contact. Initially, the main contact remains engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact is further withdrawn, an electric arc forms between them, extending within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap.
