In typical operational scenarios, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube remains tightly closed. Upon encountering faults, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, generating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing substantial gas volumes and creating high pressure to elongate the arc within the tube. Post-melting, the moving contact loses tension, allowing the mechanism to unlock and the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning to an open position.
