This dynamic arc ignites the arc tube, decomposing a substantial volume of gas and establishing high pressure within the tube to create a vertical wind path that masterfully stretches and elongates the arc. As the fuse blows, the moving contact releases, rotating gracefully outward while the locking mechanism disengages, allowing the fuse tube to drop and achieve a conclusive breaking position. When load pulling is required, an insulating rod is utilized to draw out the moving contact while maintaining a connection with the static contact. With continued force application, auxiliary contacts separate, generating an arc that stretches within the hood slit. The drop-out fuse cutout consists of robust insulating supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts strategically fixed on both sides and moving contacts expertly affixed at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube features a sophisticated internal arc-extinguishing tube, complemented by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout also includes high-performance, elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient on-off load current switching.
In typical operational scenarios, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube remains tightly closed. Upon encountering faults, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, generating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing substantial volumes of gas and creating high pressure to elongate the arc within the tube. Once melted, the moving contact loses tension, allowing the mechanism to lock, and the fuse tube to elegantly drop out, transitioning to an open position. For cutout load switching, operators skillfully utilize an insulating operating bar to draw the moving contact. Initially, the main contact remains engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact is further pulled, an electric arc forms between them, extending within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing mechanism expels gas to efficiently extinguish the arc as the current passes through zero.
