General
The drop-out fuse and pull load drop-out fuse are indispensable outdoor high-voltage protective devices, expertly engineered to safeguard electric systems. Strategically situated on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or along distribution lines, these fuses provide robust protection against transformer and line short circuits, alongside overloads, while adeptly handling open-circuit load currents. Boasting a sturdy construction, each device comprises an insulating bracket and fuse tubes. The static contact is securely anchored at each end of the insulation bracket, while the moving contact resides at the fuse tube's extremities. Ingeniously designed, the fuse tube incorporates an inner arc tube, enveloped by an outer phenolic paper tube or an epoxy glass cloth tube. For superior operational efficiency, the pull load drop-out fuse is equipped with nimble auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, amplifying its operational dexterity, particularly when managing open or co-load currents.
In routine operations, the drop-out fuse remains closed, ensuring the fuse tube and fuse are taut. Upon the occurrence of a system fault, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, sparking an arc. The arc's intense heat generates a gas surge from the arc tube, escalating the pressure within the tube. This initiates a vertical airflow along the pipeline, expertly stretching and elongating the arc. As the fuse blows, the tension of the moving contact dissipates, activating the locking mechanism, which releases the fuse tube, guiding it into the breaking position. For load pulling, an insulating rod is employed to disengage the moving contact, initially retaining its connection with the static contact. Continued pulling with the insulating rod leads to the auxiliary contacts detaching, forming and elongating an arc within the hood slit. The gas from the arc cover assists in extinguishing the arc when the current reaches zero.

In instances where standards ambiguously define essential parameters and configurations, precise adjustments are carried out in accordance with JB/DQ2139-1986 requirements for 10 ~ 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses interim technology.
Drop-out fuse cutouts and load switching fuse cutouts are vital components for outdoor high voltage protection. Seamlessly integrated into the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, they provide essential defense against short circuits and overloads, efficiently managing on/off loading currents. The drop-out fuse cutout features insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube; static contacts are securely positioned on either side of the insulator support, while moving contacts rest at the ends of the fuse tube. The sophisticated design of the fuse tube includes an inner arc-extinguishing tube, enclosed by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout boasts resilient elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring proficient management of on-off loading currents.
Under standard operating conditions, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube remains securely closed. When faults occur, fault currents swiftly melt the fuse, generating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing abundant gas. This surge in pressure propels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses tension, prompting the mechanism to lock, and the fuse tube drops out, transitioning the cutout to an open state. To switch off during cutout loading, operators use an insulating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged, but continued pulling disengages the auxiliary contacts, generating an electric arc that elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing mechanism releases gas, ensuring the arc is extinguished as the current reaches zero.
