General
The Drop-out Fuse and Pull Load Drop-out Fuse are pivotal solutions for safeguarding outdoor high-voltage electrical systems. These devices are ingeniously designed to be strategically positioned on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as integral connections within distribution lines. They play a vital role in offering protection against transformer and line short circuits, overload conditions, and facilitate the initiation and co-loading of current. Crafted with precision, the drop-out fuse integrates an insulating bracket and fuse tubes, with static contacts securely affixed at the bracket's ends and moving contacts at the fuse tube's ends. The fuse tube is constructed with an inner arc tube and an outer layer made from phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth tube. The Pull Load Drop-out Fuse presents enhanced versatility with auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, meticulously engineered for smooth current load operations.
In standard operational scenarios, the drop-out fuse is firmly held in a closed position, with the fuse tube tensioned for maximum reliability. When a system malfunction arises, the fault current promptly blows the fuse, creating an arc. This arc ignites the arc tube, leading to the decomposition of a large volume of gas, producing high pressure within the tube and generating a powerful vertical wind path. This efficient mechanism swiftly stretches and elongates the arc. Following the fuse blowout, the moving contact releases its tension and rotates outward, while the locking mechanism disengages to allow the fuse tube to drop and reach a breaking position. For load pulling, an insulating rod is utilized to draw the moving contact, which keeps in touch with the static contact. The continued application of force causes the auxiliary contacts to separate, forming an arc that stretches within the protective hood slit. The arc cover, containing gas, assists in extinguishing the arc as the current approaches zero.
Use and Standards
This exceptional product is expertly tailored for applications in 10 to 35KV distribution lines, including branching lines and the primary side of distribution transformers. It delivers robust protection against overloads and short circuits while allowing efficient separation and recombination of the rated load current.
The painstaking design of this product follows the JB/T8321-1996 Method for AC high-voltage fuse preparation, while its parameters are aligned with the GB15166.3-1994 high voltage fuses Expulsion fuses standards. In scenarios where the standards do not specify detailed definitions of key parameters and configurations, adaptations are made in accordance with the JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technology requirements for 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses.
The Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are superior outdoor high-voltage protective devices. Engineered to connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, they are integral in protecting transformers and lines from short circuit events and overload conditions while managing on/off load current. The drop-out fuse cutout comprises insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts securely installed on both sides of the insulator support and moving contacts at the fuse tube's ends. The fuse tube includes an internal arc-extinguishing tube with an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout also incorporates robust elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for proficient on-off load current switching.
Under normal operational conditions, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube remains taut in a closed position. When a fault arises, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, creating an electric arc. This heat causes the arc-extinguishing tube to release a considerable volume of gas, generating high pressure and elongating the arc throughout the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses tension, allowing the mechanism to unlock and the fuse tube to drop out, switching to an open position. During load switching cutout, operators utilize an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact remains engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact is further extended, an electric arc forms between the auxiliary contacts, stretching within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Concurrently, the arc-extinguishing mechanism expels gas to extinguish the arc as the current reaches zero.
