General
The Drop-out Fuse and Pull Load Drop-out Fuse represent the pinnacle of outdoor high-voltage electrical protection solutions. These advanced devices are expertly positioned on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or integrated as vital support links within distribution lines. They act as indispensable guardians against transformer and line short circuits, and overload conditions, while also facilitating the safe opening and co-loading of current. Ingeniously designed, the drop-out fuse features an insulating bracket and fuse tubes, with static contacts securely affixed at both ends of the bracket and moving contacts precisely attached to the fuse tube ends. The fuse tube's construction boasts an inner arc tube ingeniously paired with an outer phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth tube. The Pull Load Drop-out Fuse provides superior flexibility through its auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, all specifically engineered for flawless current load operations.
During routine operations, the drop-out fuse remains firmly held in a closed position with the fuse tube meticulously tensioned. However, when system malfunctions occur, the fault current rapidly blows the fuse, generating a fierce arc. This arc ignites the arc tube, causing it to decompose and release large volumes of gas, creating high pressure within the tube, and generating a powerful vertical wind path. This remarkable process swiftly stretches and lengthens the arc. Once the fuse is blown, the moving contact releases tension and rotates outwards, allowing the locking mechanism to disengage, letting the fuse tube drop to a breaking position. When it’s time to pull the load, an insulating rod comes into play to pull the moving contact, ensuring continued contact with the static contact. With continued effort, the auxiliary contacts separate, creating an arc that stretches within the hood slit. The arc cover, filled with gas, assists in extinguishing the arc as the current reaches its zero crossing.
Use and Standards
This exceptional product is meticulously engineered for deployment in 10 to 35KV distribution lines, including branching lines and the primary side of distribution transformers. It offers robust protection against overloads and short circuits, while simultaneously facilitating the efficient separation and combination of the rated load current.
This product's design follows the rigorous JB/T8321-1996 Method for AC high-voltage fuse preparation, while its parameters align with the GB15166.3-1994 High Voltage Fuses Expulsion Fuses standards. When the standards lack detailed definitions of critical parameters and configurations, adjustments are made according to the JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technology requirements for 10 to 35KV outdoor high-voltage drop fuses.
The Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are preeminent outdoor high-voltage protective devices. Designed to seamlessly connect with incoming feeders of distribution transformers or lines, they play a crucial role in safeguarding transformers and lines from short circuit incidents and overload conditions while proficiently managing the on/off load current. The drop-out fuse cutout consists of insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts securely fixed on both sides of the insulator support and moving contacts expertly installed at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube features an internal arc-extinguishing tube, complemented by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout includes robust elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient on-off load current switching.
In standard operational scenarios, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube is tightly secured to maintain a closed position. Upon encountering faults, the fault current causes the fuse to melt instantly, giving rise to an electric arc. This significant event causes the arc-extinguishing tube to heat and expel a substantial volume of gas, creating high pressure and extending the arc throughout the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, enabling the mechanism to lock, allowing the fuse tube to drop, thereby switching to an open position. For load switching during cutout, operators must skillfully use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact remains engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact is further manipulated, an electric arc forms between the auxiliary contacts, extending within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Concurrently, the arc-extinguishing mechanism expels gas to extinguish the arc as the current transitions through zero.
