For load pulling, an insulating rod is utilized to draw out the moving contact while maintaining connection with the static contact. The Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout represent the apex of high-performance outdoor high-voltage protective devices. The drop-out fuse cutout comprises robust insulating supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts strategically mounted on either side and moving contacts expertly secured at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube features an advanced internal arc-extinguishing tube, complemented by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. Additionally, the load switching fuse cutout includes high-performance, elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient on/off load current switching.
In standard operational conditions, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube remains tightly secured in a closed position. When faults occur, the fault current rapidly melts the fuse, initiating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing substantial gas volumes and creating high pressure to elongate the arc within the tube. Upon melting, the moving contact loses tension, enabling the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to gracefully drop out, transitioning to an open position. For cutout load switching, operators skillfully employ an insulating operating bar to draw out the moving contact. Initially, the main contact stays engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact is further pulled, an electric arc forms between them, extending within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing system expels gas to efficiently extinguish the arc as the current passes through zero, ensuring seamless operation.
