General
The drop-out fuse and pull load drop-out fuse are vital outdoor high-voltage protection solutions. They are strategically installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or serve as key support links along distribution lines, providing robust protection against short circuits, overloads, and enabling seamless load current operation. Crafted with precision, the drop-out fuse consists of a sturdy insulating bracket and robust fuse tubes. Static contacts are securely mounted at each end of the insulation bracket, while moving contacts are affixed to the ends of the fuse tube. This innovative fuse tube is a composite of an inner arc tube enveloped by an outer phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth tube. The pull load drop-out fuse is enhanced with flexible auxiliary contacts and an arc chute to efficiently manage co-load current operations.
During normal operation, the drop-out fuse maintains a closed position with the fuse tube under tension. Upon system failure, the fault current swiftly blows the fuse, generating an arc. The arc ignites the arc tube, decomposing it into a significant volume of gas, which creates high pressure within the tube and a vertical wind effect along the pipeline. This process stretches and elongates the arc rapidly. Once the fuse is blown, the moving contact loses tension and disengages, unlocking the mechanism and releasing the fuse tube. The fuse tube drops, establishing a breaking position. For load pulling, an insulating rod is used to disengage the moving contact. Initially, the moving and static contacts remain in contact. Continued pulling with the insulating rod separates the auxiliary contacts, producing an arc that stretches within the hood slit. The arc cover contains gas, and when the current reaches zero, the arc is extinguished.
Use and Standards
This product is expertly designed for use in 10 ~ 35KV distribution lines, branching lines, and the primary side of distribution transformers. It offers exceptional overload and short circuit protection, seamlessly separating and combining the rated load current to ensure continuous power reliability.
The product adheres to the JB/T8321-1996 standards for AC high-voltage fuses. The parameters are meticulously crafted following the GB15166.3-1994 standards for high voltage expulsion fuses. While some standards lack clarity on crucial parameters and configurations, revisions are made in accordance with JB/DQ2139-1986 requirements for 10 ~ 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses, ensuring peak performance.
The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are expertly engineered for outdoor use as high voltage protective devices. They connect seamlessly with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, offering unparalleled protection against short circuits and overloads. Additionally, they enable efficient on/off loading and current management. Comprising insulate insulator supports and a durable fuse tube, static contacts are fixed on both sides of the insulator support, with moving contacts installed at each end of the fuse tube. The fuse tube features an inside arc-extinguishing tube, encased in an outer phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is equipped with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, expertly managing on-off loading currents.
In normal working conditions, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube is fixed in a close position. When the system encounters a fault, the resulting fault current causes the fuse to melt instantly, producing an electric arc. This heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing a substantial amount of gas that generates high pressure and propels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses tension, the mechanism locks, and the fuse tube drops out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For switching off during cutout loading, an operator uses an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged. As the auxiliary contact is pulled, an electric arc forms between the auxiliary contacts, stretching within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, arc-extinguishing gases are expelled to extinguish the arc as the current passes zero.
