General
The drop-out fuse and pull-load drop-out fuse serve as essential outdoor high-voltage protection devices for electrical systems. Positioned strategically on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as a Support Link in distribution lines, they offer robust protection against transformer and line short circuits, overloads, and facilitate current flow management. Constructed with an insulating bracket and fuse tubes, each fuse features static contacts installed at each end of the insulation bracket. The moving contacts are securely placed on either end of the fuse tube, which is comprised of a sophisticated inner arc tube and an outer phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth tube. The pull-load drop-out fuse takes functionality further with flexible auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, enhancing its capability to manage current load efficiently.
In standard operations, the fuse tube maintains a closed position under fuse tension. Upon a system failure, the fault current swiftly blows the fuse, resulting in the formation of an arc. This arc ignites the arc tube, decomposing vast amounts of gas to generate high pressure within the tube, creating a vertical wind along the pipeline. The arc is then rapidly elongated and dissipated. Once the fuse blows, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the locking mechanism to release the fuse tube and allowing it to drop, forming an open circuit position. During load operations, an insulating rod is used to pull the moving contact, which remains in contact with the static contact. As the pull continues, the auxiliary contacts separate, and an arc forms between them. This arc stretches within the hood slit, where the arc cover, filled with gas, extinguishes the arc as the current reaches zero.
Use and Standards
Specifically crafted for 10 ~ 35KV distribution lines, this product seamlessly integrates into branching lines and the primary side of distribution transformers. It excels in providing overload and short circuit protection while enabling the separation and combination of the rated load current with utmost efficiency.
In adherence to JB/T8321-1996 standards for AC high-voltage fuses, the product model follows meticulous preparation methods. All product parameters align with GB15166.3-1994 standards for high voltage expulsion fuses. Although certain parameters and configurations lack clear definitions, the product is rigorously corrected as per the JB/DQ2139-1986 requirements for 10 ~ 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses.
Drop-out fuse cutouts and load switching fuse cutouts are vital outdoor high-voltage protective devices. These devices are integral to the incoming feeder connection of distribution transformers or lines, offering paramount protection against short circuits and overloads while managing load current efficiently. Composed of insulated supports and fuse tubes, the static contacts are firmly affixed on each side of the insulator support, with moving contacts positioned at the ends of the fuse tube. The interior arc-extinguishing tube is enveloped by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout augments functionality with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and a sophisticated arc-extinguishing enclosure for superior current management.
During normal operation, the fuse link securely stabilizes the fuse tube in a closed position. Upon a fault in the system, the fault current promptly melts the fuse link, generating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, causing a significant gas release. This results in high pressure that propels the arc along the tube. After the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, locking the mechanism and causing the fuse tube to drop out, placing the cutout in an open position. When switching off during cutout loading is necessary, operators use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact remains connected with the auxiliary static contact. As the pulling continues, the auxiliary contacts separate, creating an arc between them. This arc is elongated within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, where the arc-extinguishing gas effectively blows off the arc as the current approaches zero.
