The fuse tube itself showcases meticulous craftsmanship, comprising an inner arc tube enveloped by a resilient outer phenolic paper tube or an epoxy glass cloth tube. For enhanced operational flexibility, particularly when dealing with open or co-load currents, the pull load drop-out fuse is equipped with agile auxiliary contacts and a sophisticated arc chute.

During seamless normal operations, the drop-out fuse is held firmly in a closed position, with the fuse tube and fuse under perfect tension. However, in moments of system failure, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, generating a potent arc. The arc tube, enduring the intense heat, liberates vast quantities of gas, which creates tremendous pressure within the tube. This results in a vertical wind coursing along the pipeline, effectively stretching and elongating the arc to perfection.
