General
The Drop-Out Fuse and Pull Load Drop-Out Fuse are indispensable outdoor high-voltage protection devices. Skillfully designed as the steadfast defenders of electric systems, they are positioned on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or within distribution lines. These fuses provide unparalleled safeguarding against transformer and line short circuits and overloads, while expertly controlling open-circuit load currents. Their robust construction showcases an insulating bracket and fuse tubes, with static contacts steadfastly mounted on each side of the insulation bracket, and moving contacts stationed at the ends of the fuse tube. Ingeniously, the fuse tube is crafted with an inner arc tube encased by an outer phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth tube. To ensure superior operational performance, the pull load drop-out fuse is fitted with nimble auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, enhancing its operational dexterity, particularly when managing open or co-load currents.
In routine operations, the drop-out fuse remains closed, securely maintaining the fuse tube and fuse under tension. When a system fault occurs, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, creating a vivid arc. The arc's intense heat generates an outflow of gas from the arc tube, elevating the internal pressure. This initiates a vertical airflow within the pipeline, adeptly elongating and stretching the arc. As the fuse blows, the tension of the moving contact is released, activating the locking mechanism, which then releases the fuse tube, guiding it into the breaking position. For load pulling, an insulating rod is employed to disengage the moving contact, initially keeping its bond with the static contact. Continued pulling with the insulating rod causes the auxiliary contacts to disengage, generating and extending an arc within the hood slit. The arc cover's gas assists in extinguishing the arc when the current approaches zero.

Drop-Out Fuse Cutouts and Load Switching Fuse Cutouts are integral components for outdoor high-voltage protection. Seamlessly embedded into the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, they provide essential defense against short circuits and overloads, adeptly managing on/off loading currents. The Drop-Out Fuse Cutout is characterized by insulate insulator supports and a fuse tube; static contacts are securely anchored on either side of the insulator support, while moving contacts are positioned at the ends of the fuse tube. The intricate design of the fuse tube includes an inner arc-extinguishing tube, surrounded by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The Load Switching Fuse Cutout features resilient elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring effective management of on-off loading currents.
Under typical operating conditions, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube remains securely closed. When faults arise, fault currents quickly melt the fuse, forming an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube and releases abundant gas. This high pressure propels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses tension, triggering the mechanism to lock, and the fuse tube drops out, transitioning the cutout to an open state. For cutting out during load operations, operators utilize an insulating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged, but further pulling disengages the auxiliary contacts, producing an electric arc that elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing mechanism releases gas, ensuring the arc is extinguished as the current reaches zero.
