The fuse tube boasts a sophisticated internal arc-extinguishing tube paired with an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout also integrates enhanced, elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient on-off load current switching.
In typical operational scenarios, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube remains securely closed. Upon encountering faults, the fault current rapidly melts the fuse, generating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing significant gas volumes and producing high pressure to elongate the arc within the tube. Post-melting, the moving contact loses tension, enabling the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning to an open position. For cutout load switching, operators utilize an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact remains engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact is further pulled, an electric arc forms between them, elongating within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing mechanism expels gas to efficiently extinguish the arc as the current passes through zero.
