General
The drop-out fuse and its load-bearing counterpart are indispensable outdoor high-voltage electrical protections. Expertly installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as a pivotal component in distribution line supports, these fuses provide unmatched short circuit and overload protection while managing open and co-load current. This robust system features an insulating bracket paired with fuse tubes. Static contacts are strategically placed at both ends of the bracket, while moving contacts are positioned at the fuse tube's extremities. The tube itself boasts an inner arc tube and is encapsulated by an outer layer of phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth, ensuring durability and reliability. The pull-load drop-out fuse, enhanced with flexible auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, guarantees superior performance in managing open and co-load currents.
In typical operation, the fuse tube, under tension from the fuse, remains securely in a closed position. However, in the event of a system failure, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse. This action rapidly generates an arc, which ignites the arc tube, resulting in the decomposition of gases and creating high pressure within the tube. This process swiftly elongates the arc along the pipeline. Upon fuse failure, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the locking mechanism to release the fuse tube, which then drops, establishing a breaking position. When it becomes necessary to pull the load, an insulating rod is employed to manipulate the moving contact. Initially, the moving and static contacts remain engaged. Continued pulling with the insulating rod separates the auxiliary contacts, generating an arc between them. This arc stretches within the hood slit, where the arc cover contains gases that extinguish the arc when the current reaches zero.
Use and Standards
This innovative product finds its purpose in 10 ~ 35KV distribution line branches and at the primary side of distribution transformers. It is expertly designed for overload and short circuit protection, ensuring seamless separation and combination of the rated load current.
The product model is meticulously crafted according to JB/T8321-1996 standards for AC high-voltage fuses. Its parameters align with the GB15166.3-1994 high voltage expulsion fuses standards. Although some parameters and configurations lack clear definitions, they are adjusted according to JB/DQ2139-1986 requirements for 10 ~ 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses, ensuring the highest level of precision.
Drop-out fuse cutouts and their load-switching counterparts stand as vital outdoor high voltage protective devices. Seamlessly connected with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, they serve as guardians against short circuits and overloads, efficiently managing on/off loading currents. These cutouts comprise insulator supports and fuse tubes, with static contacts affixed to the insulator's sides and moving contacts installed at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself features an inner arc-extinguishing tube, while outer layers are constructed of phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass. The inclusion of load-switching fuse cutouts with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and arc-extinguishing enclosures ensures optimal performance in switching on-off loading currents.
During normal operation, the fuse link secures the fuse tube, maintaining a closed position. In the event of a fault in the system, the fault current instantaneously melts the fuse link, generating an electric arc. This heats the arc-extinguishing tube, causing it to release a substantial amount of gas. This action creates high pressure and propels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, the mechanism locks, and the fuse tube drops out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. To switch off during cutout loading, an operator uses an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged. As the auxiliary contact is further pulled, it separates, producing an electric arc between the auxiliary contacts. This arc extends within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, where it is extinguished by the gas explosion as the current transitions to zero.
