Introducing the Drop-out Fuse and Pull Load Drop-out Fuse, the ultimate solutions in outdoor high-voltage electrical protection. Designed with precision, these devices are ideally situated on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as vital components in distribution lines. They provide essential protection against transformer and line short circuits, and overload conditions, while expertly managing the opening and co-loading of current. The drop-out fuse features an innovative design with an insulating bracket and fuse tubes. Static contacts are securely mounted at both ends of the bracket, while moving contacts are attached to the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube is meticulously crafted with an inner arc tube and an outer layer made from phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth. The Pull Load Drop-out Fuse offers enhanced versatility, incorporating auxiliary contacts and an arc chute for smooth current load operations.
In regular operations, the drop-out fuse is firmly held closed with the fuse tube under tension. When a system fault occurs, the fault current swiftly blows the fuse, creating an arc. This arc energizes the arc tube, leading to the decomposition of substantial gas volumes, which generates high pressure and forms a vertical wind path. This ingenious mechanism rapidly stretches and elongates the arc. Once the fuse has melted, the moving contact releases tension and pivots outwards, with the locking mechanism disengaging, allowing the fuse tube to drop and break the circuit. For load pulling, an insulating rod is utilized to move the contact, retaining its engagement with the static contact. With continued pulling, the auxiliary contacts are separated, forming an arc stretched within the hood slit. The arc cover, filled with gas, aids in extinguishing the arc as the current reaches zero.
Use and Standards
This exceptional product is engineered for use in 10 to 35KV distribution lines, including branching lines and the primary side of distribution transformers. It delivers reliable protection against overloads and short circuits, while facilitating efficient separation and combination of the rated load current.
Engineered with precision, this product adheres to the JB/T8321-1996 Method for AC high-voltage fuse preparation, aligning its product parameters with the GB15166.3-1994 high voltage fuses Expulsion fuses standards. When the standards do not delineate detailed parameters and configurations, adjustments are made according to the JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technology requirements for 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses.
The Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout represent the pinnacle of outdoor high-voltage protective devices. Masterfully crafted to connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, they are indispensable for protecting transformers and lines from short circuit and overload conditions, while adeptly managing on/off load current. The drop-out fuse cutout includes insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube with static contacts steadfastly fixed on both sides of the support and moving contacts at the ends of the fuse tube. The tube is equipped with an internal arc-extinguishing tube and an outer phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout further features robust auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for seamless on-off load current switching.
Under normal conditions, the fuse link ensures that the fuse tube remains tightly closed. In the event of a fault, the fault current promptly melts the fuse, creating an arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing significant gas volumes, and building high pressure that elongates the arc throughout the tube. After the fuse link melts, the moving contact releases tension, enabling the locking mechanism to release and the fuse tube to drop out to an open position. For load switching during cutout, operators employ an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact stays engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As further movement separates the auxiliary contact, an arc forms between them, lengthening within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Concurrently, the arc-extinguishing mechanism expels gas to extinguish the arc as the current reaches zero.
