General
The Drop-out Fuse and Load Drop-out Fuse are indispensable outdoor high-voltage protective solutions. Strategically positioned on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or along distribution lines, these fuses offer robust protection against transformer and line short circuits, overloads, and operational current management. Built from a resilient insulating bracket and sturdy fuse tubes, static contacts are securely mounted at both ends of the bracket while dynamic contacts are found at the tube ends. Each fuse tube is ingeniously constructed from an inner arc-extinguishing tube coupled with an outer protective layer of phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth. The Load Drop-out Fuse features enhanced flexibility through auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, ensuring superior performance in operational current scenarios.
During standard operation, the fuse tube, taut with fuse tension, remains securely closed. In the event of a system fault, the fault current efficiently ruptures the fuse, resulting in the formation of an arc. This triggers the arc tube to combust due to the arc's energy, discharging substantial gas quantities and creating internal pressure. Consequently, this pressure generates a vertical airflow along the tube, swiftly stretching and elongating the arc. Once the fuse has blown, the moving contact is released from tension, activating the locking mechanism to release the fuse tube, allowing it to drop and establish an open position. For load switching, an insulating rod effortlessly manipulates the moving contact. Initially, this keeps the moving and static contacts engaged; however, continued manipulation separates the auxiliary contacts, resulting in an arc that extends within the hood slit. This arc is efficiently quenched when the current subsides.
Use and Standards
This sophisticated product is expertly engineered for deployment in 10 ~ 35KV distribution lines, branching circuits, and on the primary side of distribution transformers. It provides steadfast protection against overloads and short circuits while facilitating the seamless separation and combination of rated load currents.
The product model adheres to the JB/T8321-1996 guidelines for AC high-voltage fuse preparation. In terms of parameters, it complies with the GB15166.3-1994 standards for high-voltage expulsion fuses. As certain critical parameters and configurations remain unspecified, adaptations are made according to the JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technological requirements for 10 ~ 35KV outdoor high-voltage drop fuses.
The Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are critical outdoor high-voltage protective devices designed to interface with incoming feeder distribution transformers or lines. Primarily, they safeguard transformers and lines against short circuits, overloads, and manage operational current dynamics. The Drop-out Fuse Cutout consists of resilient insulated supports and a fuse tube. Static contacts are firmly attached to both sides of the insulator support, while the moving contact is precisely installed on each tube end. The fuse tube comprises an inside arc-extinguishing tube, complemented by an outer layer of phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass. The Load Switching Fuse Cutout boasts reinforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring smooth on-off load current transitions.
Under standard conditions, the fuse tube remains securely tightened by the fuse link to form a closed position. Upon system fault detection, the fault current rapidly melts the fuse link, creating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube and expels a significant volume of gas. This generates high pressure, propelling the arc along the tube. Following the melting of the fuse link, the moving contact loses tension, activating the lock mechanism to drop the fuse tube, thus positioning the cutout in an open state. When load switching is necessary, operators employ an insulating bar to manipulate the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary contacts remain engaged. However, as the auxiliary contact is pulled apart, an arc forms between them, stretching within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, gas is expelled to extinguish the arc at current zero.
