General
The drop-out fuse, complete with its impressive load drop-out functionality, stands as an essential component for outdoor high-voltage electrical protection. Designed for installation on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as a critical support link in distribution lines, this device ensures robust short circuit and overload protection, along with seamless current load operations. Engineered with a meticulous assembly of insulating brackets and fuse tubes, the static contacts are securely mounted at each end of the insulation bracket, while moving contacts are precisely positioned at both ends of the innovative fuse tube. The fuse tube itself is a marvel of design, crafted from an advanced combination of an inner arc-extinguishing tube, encased in an outer layer of phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth tube. The pull-load drop-out fuse is further enhanced with flexible auxiliary contacts and a sophisticated arc chute, ensuring superior performance and reliability when engaging in co-load current operations.
In standard operation, the drop-out fuse maintains a closed position through the tensioned fuse tube. Upon encountering a system fault, the fault current swiftly blows the fuse, igniting an arc that promptly burns through the arc tube. This action triggers the decomposition of substantial gas volumes, generating high pressure within the tube and creating a vertical wind path that rapidly stretches and elongates the arc. Post-blowout, the moving contact loses tension, disengaging and triggering the locking mechanism to release the fuse tube, culminating in its drop to form a breaking position. During load pull operations, the insulating rod is utilized to manipulate the moving contact while the static contact remains engaged. As the insulating rod continues its pull, the auxiliary contacts separate, resulting in arc formation between them. The arc gracefully stretches within the slit of the hood, aided by arc cover gas, until it extinguishes as the current reaches zero.
Use and Standards
This product is expertly crafted for seamless integration into distribution lines branching from 10 to 35KV and on the primary side of distribution transformers. It offers unparalleled overload and short-circuit protection, efficiently handling the separation and combination of rated load currents to ensure optimal system performance.
The product model is meticulously prepared according to the JB/T8321-1996 method for AC high-voltage fuses, with product parameters aligning with the GB15166.3-1994 high voltage fuses expulsion fuses standards. In instances where standards lack explicit parameter and configuration definitions, corrections are applied as per JB/DQ2139-1986 requirements for 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuse interim technology.
The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout serve as state-of-the-art outdoor high voltage protective devices. Strategically connected to the incoming feeders of distribution transformers or lines, they play a pivotal role in safeguarding transformers and lines from short circuits and overloads while facilitating efficient on/off load current switching. The drop-out fuse cutout is composed of durable insulator supports and a robust fuse tube, with static contacts firmly affixed to the insulator support's sides and moving contacts installed at the fuse tube's ends. The fuse tube features an advanced inside arc-extinguishing tube, complemented by an outer phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube, while the load switching fuse cutout boasts reinforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure to masterfully manage on-off loading currents.
Under normal conditions, the fuse link secures the fuse tube in a steadfast closed position. In the event of system faults, the resultant fault current swiftly melts the fuse link, generating an electric arc that heats and expels substantial gas from the arc-extinguishing tube. This process induces high pressure and arc expulsion along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering a mechanism lock and causing the fuse tube to drop, transitioning the cutout to an open position. To switch off during cutout loading, operators utilize an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged. However, as pulling progresses, the auxiliary contact separates, resulting in an electric arc that elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Concurrently, arc-extinguishing gas is released to efficiently extinguish the arc as the current crosses zero.
