General
The drop-out fuse and pull load drop-out fuse are premier outdoor protective devices designed for high-voltage electrical systems. These are strategically installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as critical components in distribution line networks, providing robust protection against short circuits and overloads. This ensures the seamless operation of the transformers and lines by facilitating current interruptions when necessary. The construction of the drop-out fuse involves an insulating bracket combined with fuse tubes. Static contacts are meticulously affixed at both ends of the insulation bracket, whereas moving contacts are securely installed at the termini of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself is a sophisticated assembly, comprising an inner arc-extinguishing tube surrounded by an outer protective layer made of phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth. To enhance operational flexibility, the pull load drop-out fuse is further equipped with auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, which elegantly manage open and current loads.
During normal operational conditions, the fuse tube remains in a securely closed position due to the tensile strength of the fuse. Upon system fault detection, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, igniting an arc. The arc's energy significantly heats the arc tube, generating a substantial volume of gas that builds high pressure within the tube. This pressure creates a vertical wind effect along the pipeline, rapidly elongating the arc. Once the fuse melts, the moving contact loses its tension, activating the locking mechanism that releases the fuse tube, allowing it to drop and achieve a breaking position. When it is necessary to interrupt the load, an insulating rod is employed to maneuver the moving contact. Initially, the moving and static contacts maintain contact, but continuous pulling separates the auxiliary contacts. This separation results in an arc forming between them, which stretches within the protective arc slit. As the arc chute houses gas, the arc extinguishes when the current reaches zero.

Engineered for impeccable performance, this high voltage fuse is optimally suited for 10 to 35KV distribution lines and branching circuits, as well as the primary side of distribution transformers. It provides outstanding protection against overload and short-circuit conditions, ensuring seamless separation and combination of rated load currents.
Adhering to rigorous industry standards, the product model complies with JB/T8321-1996 for AC high-voltage fuses. It is meticulously manufactured following the GB15166.3-1994 expulsion fuses standards, which highlight essential parameters and configurations. For specific adjustments, the product aligns with JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technology requirements, ensuring its reliability and performance in 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage scenarios.
The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are advanced outdoor high voltage protective devices intended for integration with distribution transformers or lines' incoming feeders. Their primary function is to shield transformers and lines from potential short circuits and overloads, while facilitating smooth on/off current operations. The drop-out fuse cutout features insulator supports and a sophisticated fuse tube, with static contacts firmly attached on both sides of the insulator support and moving contacts positioned at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube consists of an inner arc-extinguishing tube and an outer layer made of phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass. The load switching fuse cutout offers enhanced performance with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure designed for efficient current switching.
Under standard operating conditions, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube is tightly secured, maintaining a closed position. In the event of system faults, the resultant fault current promptly melts the fuse link, initiating an electric arc. This process heats the arc-extinguishing tube, leading to the rapid release of gas that generates high pressure and expels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, and the mechanism locks, allowing the fuse tube to drop and transition to an open position. When switching off the load during cutout, operators use an insulating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain engaged, but as the auxiliary contact is pulled apart, an electric arc forms and extends within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. The enclosure releases gas, effectively extinguishing the arc as the current reaches zero.
