General
The Drop-out Fuse and Load Drop-out Fuse are essential outdoor high-voltage protection devices. Perfectly engineered for installation on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as a pivotal component in distribution line support, they serve as the frontline guardians against transformer and line short circuits, overloads, and manage the seamless operation of opening and co-loading currents. Each Drop-out Fuse is meticulously crafted with an insulating bracket and fuse tubes. Static contacts are strategically positioned at each end of the insulating bracket, while dynamic moving contacts are placed at both ends of the fuse tube, which itself consists of an inner arc tube and an outer protective layer made from phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth tube. The Pull Load Drop-out Fuse enhances operational flexibility with auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, optimizing its performance for current management.
In standard operations, the drop-out fuse remains steadfast in a closed position, thanks to the tension of the fuse tube. However, upon system failure, the fault current swiftly blows the fuse, igniting an arc. This arc heats the arc tube, causing it to release a significant amount of gas, creating high pressure within the tube. The resultant vertical wind along the pipeline stretches and elongates the arc promptly. Post-blow, the moving contact loses its tension, unlocking the mechanism and releasing the fuse tube, which then drops into a breaking position. During load pulling, an insulating rod is utilized to disengage the moving contact. Initially, the moving and static contacts remain connected. As the insulating rod continues to exert pull, the auxiliary contacts disengage, resulting in an arc that stretches within the hood slit. This arc, surrounded by gas in the arc cover, is extinguished when the current reaches zero.
Use and Standards
This high-performance product is tailored for deployment on 10 to 35KV distribution lines, branching lines, and at the primary side of distribution transformers, delivering exceptional protection against overloads and short circuits. It also ensures the smooth separation and combination of rated load currents, safeguarding your power distribution infrastructure.
The product model adheres rigorously to the JB/T8321-1996 Method for AC high-voltage fuses and aligns its parameters to the GB15166.3-1994 High Voltage Fuses Expulsion Fuses standards. While these standards define comprehensive parameters and configurations, any ambiguities are rectified according to JB/DQ2139-1986 requirements, ensuring that 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses meet interim technical specifications with precision.
Drop-out Fuse Cutouts and Load Switching Fuse Cutouts are vital outdoor high voltage protective devices. They are crucially connected with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, primarily protecting transformers and lines from short circuits and overloads, while facilitating the on/off loading of current. Each Drop-out Fuse Cutout comprises robust insulate insulator supports and a fuse tube. Static contacts are firmly attached to either side of the insulator support, with moving contacts installed at both ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself boasts an arc-extinguishing inner tube, complemented by an outer layer crafted from phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The Load Switching Fuse Cutout offers enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring reliable switching for on-off loading currents.
In normal operational scenarios, the fuse link secures the fuse tube in a closed position. Should a fault arise, the fault current promptly causes the fuse to melt, generating an electric arc. This arc heats the arc-extinguishing tube, which then releases substantial gas, producing high pressure that propels the arc along the tube. After the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, the mechanism locks, and the fuse tube drops, leaving the cutout in an open position. For cutout loading switch-off, operators use an insulating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain connected. As pulling continues, the auxiliary contacts separate, generating an electric arc that extends within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Concurrently, the arc-extinguishing enclosure expels gas, extinguishing the arc as the current passes zero, ensuring seamless operation.
