General
The drop-out fuse and load drop-out fuse are pivotal outdoor high-voltage electrical protection devices. Strategically positioned on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as a vital support link in distribution lines, they serve as the first line of defense against short circuits and overloads in transformers and lines. These fuses facilitate an efficient on-off loading current operation. Crafted with precision, the drop-out fuse features an insulating bracket and fuse tubes with static contacts on both ends, while the moving contacts are affixed to the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself is an engineering marvel, composed of an inner arc tube and an outer layer made from either a phenolic paper tube or an epoxy glass cloth tube. The load drop-out fuse, enhanced with flexible auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, ensures superior performance in managing on-off load currents with remarkable dexterity.
In normal operation, the drop-out fuse maintains a closed position due to the tension within the fuse tube. Upon encountering a system fault, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, initiating an arc. The electric arc burns within the arc tube, generating vast quantities of gas and high pressure, compelling the arc to stretch vertically along the tube's pathway, effectively extinguishing it. As the fuse blows, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the release of the locking mechanism and allowing the fuse tube to drop, signifying an open position. During load switching, operators employ an insulating rod to maneuver the moving contact. Initially, the moving and static contacts remain engaged. As the rod continues to pull, the auxiliary contacts disengage, initiating an arc that stretches within the hood slit. The arc cover, filled with gas, extinguishes the arc when the current reaches zero, ensuring reliable and safe operation.

This state-of-the-art product is expertly designed for application in 10 to 35KV distribution lines, branching lines, and the primary side of distribution transformers. It is engineered for superior overload and short circuit protection, seamlessly managing the separation and combination of rated load currents.
The product model is meticulously crafted following the JB/T8321-1996 methodology for AC high-voltage fuses. Its parameters are aligned with the GB15166.3-1994 standards for high voltage expulsion fuses. While these standards do not explicitly define critical parameters and configurations, adaptations are made in accordance with the JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technical requirements for 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses, ensuring unparalleled reliability and performance.
Drop-out fuse cutouts and load switching fuse cutouts are essential outdoor high voltage protective devices. The outer layer is made from either a phenolic compound paper tube or an epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is further enhanced with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, offering superior switching capabilities for load currents.
During standard operations, the fuse link secures the fuse tube firmly in a closed position. However, in the event of a system fault, the resulting fault current promptly melts the fuse, igniting an electric arc. This arc heats the arc-extinguishing tube, causing it to release a large volume of gas, generating high pressure and expelling the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses tension and is locked in place, allowing the fuse tube to drop and transition to an open position. For load switching, operators must use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged. As the auxiliary contacts separate, an electric arc forms and is elongated within the arc-extinguishing enclosure’s gap. The arc-extinguishing system then releases gas to effectively extinguish the arc as the current passes through zero, guaranteeing a secure and efficient operation.
