The drop-out fuse and load drop-out fuse are pivotal outdoor high-voltage electrical protection devices. Strategically positioned on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as a vital support link in distribution lines, they serve as the first line of defense against short circuits and overloads in transformers and lines. These fuses facilitate an efficient on-off loading current operation. Crafted with precision, the drop-out fuse features an insulating bracket and fuse tubes with static contacts on both ends, while the moving contacts are affixed to the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself is an engineering marvel, composed of an inner arc tube and an outer layer made from either a phenolic paper tube or an epoxy glass cloth tube. The load drop-out fuse, enhanced with flexible auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, ensures superior performance in managing on-off load currents with remarkable dexterity.

In normal operation, the drop-out fuse maintains a closed position due to the tension within the fuse tube. Upon encountering a system fault, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, initiating an arc. The electric arc burns within the arc tube, generating vast quantities of gas and high pressure, compelling the arc to stretch vertically along the tube's pathway, effectively extinguishing it. As the fuse blows, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the release of the locking mechanism and allowing the fuse tube to drop, signifying an open position. During load switching, operators employ an insulating rod to maneuver the moving contact. Initially, the moving and static contacts remain engaged. This state-of-the-art product is expertly designed for application in 10 to 35KV distribution lines, branching lines, and the primary side of distribution transformers. It is engineered for superior overload and short circuit protection, seamlessly managing the separation and combination of rated load currents.
The product model is meticulously crafted following the JB/T8321-1996 methodology for AC high-voltage fuses. Its parameters are aligned with the GB15166.3-1994 standards for high voltage expulsion fuses. While these standards do not explicitly define critical parameters and configurations, adaptations are made in accordance with the JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technical requirements for 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses, ensuring unparalleled reliability and performance.
Drop-out fuse cutouts and load switching fuse cutouts are essential outdoor high voltage protective devices. During standard operations, the fuse link secures the fuse tube firmly in a closed position.
