The Pull Load Drop-out Fuse distinguishes itself with superior flexibility, integrating auxiliary contacts and an arc chute precisely engineered for smooth current load operations.
During standard operations, the drop-out fuse remains securely locked in a closed position, with the fuse tube expertly tensioned. Upon fault detection, the fault current promptly activates, blowing the fuse and igniting an arc. This dynamic arc activates the arc tube, decomposing large gas volumes and generating significant pressure within the tube to form a vertical wind path that skillfully stretches and elongates the arc. As the fuse blows, the moving contact releases, rotating gracefully outward while the locking mechanism disengages, allowing the fuse tube to drop and establish a definitive breaking position. For load pulling, an insulating rod is employed to draw out the moving contact while maintaining a connection with the static contact. With continuous force application, auxiliary contacts separate, generating an arc between them that stretches within the hood slit. Intentionally crafted to connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, they play a vital role in safeguarding transformers and lines from short circuit incidents and overload conditions while adeptly managing the on/off load current. The drop-out fuse cutout comprises robust insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts fixed on both sides and moving contacts expertly installed at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube features a sophisticated internal arc-extinguishing tube paired with an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout also includes enhanced, elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient on-off load current switching.
In standard operational scenarios, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube remains tightly closed. Upon encountering faults, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, producing an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing substantial gas volumes and creating high pressure to elongate the arc within the tube. Post-melting, the moving contact loses tension, enabling the mechanism to lock, and the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning to an open position. For cutout load switching, operators employ an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact remains engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact is further pulled, an electric arc forms between them, elongating within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing mechanism expels gas to efficiently extinguish the arc as the current crosses zero.
