General
The Drop-out Fuse and Pull Load Drop-out Fuse are integral outdoor high-voltage protection devices designed to safeguard electrical systems. Positioned strategically on the high-voltage side of the distribution transformers or within distribution line links, these fuses provide robust protection against short circuits and overloads, ensuring seamless current interruption when necessary. The construction of the drop-out fuse includes an insulating bracket and fuse tubes. Static contacts are mounted at the ends of the bracket, while moving contacts are affixed to the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself is a sophisticated assembly, comprising an inner arc tube enveloped by an outer shell made of a phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth tube. For enhanced operational flexibility, the pull load drop-out fuse incorporates auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, facilitating efficient current interruption and load management.
Under normal conditions, the drop-out fuse maintains a closed position with the fuse tube held in tension. In the event of a system failure, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, initiating an arc. This arc ignites the arc tube, releasing a substantial volume of gas and generating high pressure within the tube. This pressure propels a vertical draft along the pipeline, effectively stretching and elongating the arc. Once the fuse has blown, the moving contact loses its tension and pivots outwards, triggering the locking mechanism to release the fuse tube, which then drops to indicate a breaking position. When load interruption is required, an insulating rod is used to disengage the moving contact. At this stage, the moving and static contacts remain in contact. Further pulling with the insulating rod separates the auxiliary contacts, causing an arc to form between them. This arc is stretched within the hood slit, where gas is present to extinguish it as the current approaches zero.
Use and Standards
This product is essential for 10 to 35KV distribution lines and the primary side of distribution transformers, offering superior overload and short circuit protection. It efficiently separates and combines with the rated load current, ensuring a reliable performance.
Our product model adheres to the JB/T8321-1996 standards for AC high-voltage fuses. The product parameters are developed in accordance with GB15166.3-1994 standards for high voltage expulsion fuses. While these standards outline most parameters, any ambiguities are addressed using JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technological guidelines for 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses, ensuring precision and compliance.
The Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are high-voltage protective devices intended for outdoor use. They connect with incoming feeders of distribution transformers or lines, providing essential protection against short circuits and overloads while managing on/off load current. The cutout features insulative support and a fuse tube, with static contacts fixed to the insulator support's sides and moving contacts attached to the fuse tube ends. The fuse tube includes an inner arc-extinguishing tube, with an outer layer made from phenolic compound paper or an epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout enhances functionality with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient current management.
In normal operation, the fuse link secures the fuse tube in a closed position. If a fault occurs, the fault current immediately melts the fuse link, generating an electric arc. This arc energizes the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing gases that create high pressure and blow the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its strength, allowing the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to drop out, indicating an open position. For load switching, an operator uses an insulating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged. As the auxiliary contact is pulled apart, an electric arc forms, which is extended within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. The arc is extinguished as the current passes through zero, aided by the gas released to extinguish the arc.
