The fuse tube features a sophisticated internal arc-extinguishing tube, complemented by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout also incorporates high-performance, elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient on-off load current switching.
In typical operational conditions, the fuse link ensures that the fuse tube remains tightly closed. When faults are encountered, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, generating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing considerable volumes of gas and creating high pressure to elongate the arc within the tube. Once melted, the moving contact loses tension, allowing the mechanism to lock, and the fuse tube to elegantly drop out, transitioning to an open position. For cutout load switching, operators deftly utilize an insulating operating bar to draw the moving contact. Initially, the main contact remains engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact is further pulled, an electric arc forms between them, extending within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing mechanism expels gas to efficiently extinguish the arc as the current passes through zero.
