General
The drop-out fuse and pull load drop-out fuse are indispensable outdoor high-voltage electric protection devices. Primarily positioned on the high-voltage side of the distribution transformer or at the distribution line's support link, these fuses excel in safeguarding transformers and lines from short circuits, overloads, and managing co-load currents efficiently. Constructed with a robust insulating bracket and fuse tubes, the static contacts are securely mounted at each end of the insulation bracket, while the moving contacts are affixed to both ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself features a sophisticated design, comprising an inner arc tube and an outer tube made of either phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth. To maximize flexibility, the pull load drop-out fuse includes enhanced auxiliary contacts and an arc chute to proficiently manage open and co-load currents.
In normal operations, the drop-out fuse maintains a secure closed position by the fuse tube's tension. Upon encountering a system failure, the fault current swiftly blows the fuse, producing an arc. This arc ignites the arc tube, which decomposes to release a substantial volume of gas, creating high pressure within the tube. This pressure generates a vertical wind along the pipeline, elongating and stretching the arc. Once the fuse is blown, the moving contact loses its tension, pivots outwards, and the locking mechanism releases, allowing the fuse tube to drop and create an open position. For load operations, an insulating rod is used to pull the moving contact. Initially, the moving and static contacts remain engaged. Continued pulling separates the auxiliary contacts, producing an arc between them. This arc is stretched within the hood slit, where the arc cover contains gas. Once the current falls to zero, the arc extinguishes.
Use and Standards
This exceptional product is designed for use in 10 ~ 35KV distribution line branches and on the primary side of distribution transformers. It offers unparalleled protection against overloads and short circuits, facilitating seamless separation and combination of the rated load current.
The product model is developed in accordance with JB/T8321-1996, detailing the method of type AC high-voltage fuses. The product parameters adhere to GB15166.3-1994 standards for high-voltage expulsion fuses. These standards, while comprehensive, do not explicitly define critical parameters and configurations. Therefore, they are adjusted and refined according to JB/DQ2139-1986, which lays out interim technical requirements for 10 ~ 35KV outdoor high-voltage drop fuses.
Drop-out fuse cutouts and load switching fuse cutouts are essential outdoor high-voltage protective devices, seamlessly integrating with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines. Their primary role is to shield transformers and lines from short circuits and overloads, as well as to manage on/off loading currents effectively. Each drop-out fuse cutout is engineered with insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube, where static contacts are mounted on either side of the insulator support, and moving contacts are installed at each end of the fuse tube. The fuse tube comprises an inner arc-extinguishing tube, while the outer tube is crafted from either phenolic compound paper or an epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is enhanced with fortified elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring smooth on-off load current management.
Under normal working conditions, the fuse link secures the fuse tube in a firm closed position. In the event of system faults, the fault current causes the fuse to melt immediately, creating an electric arc. This arc heats the arc-extinguishing tube, which explosively releases a large volume of gas, generating high pressure and creating a blow effect along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, the mechanism locks, and the fuse tube drops out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For cutout loading switch-off, the operator uses an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain connected. As the auxiliary contact is pulled, an electric arc forms between auxiliary contacts, elongating in the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing gas is released to extinguish the arc as the current passes zero.
