General
The Drop-out Fuse and Pull Load Drop-out Fuse is a sophisticated, outdoor high-voltage protection device essential for electrical safety. Strategically placed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or at the support links of distribution lines, it ensures transformers and lines are safeguarded against short circuits and overloads, efficiently managing the opening and closing of load currents. The drop-out fuse, composed of an insulating bracket and fuse tubes, features static contacts at each end of the bracket, with moving contacts mounted on the fuse tube ends. This fusion of an inner arc tube and an outer phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth tube is a testament to advanced engineering. The pull load drop-out fuse is further enhanced with flexible auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, optimizing its capability to handle open and co-load currents with remarkable dexterity.
In regular operations, the drop-out fuse remains securely in a closed position, held by the tension of the fuse tube.
