General
The drop-out fuse, along with the load pull drop-out fuse, is an essential component for outdoor high-voltage electrical protection. Designed to be installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers, or as a support link within distribution lines, it acts as a guardian against transformer and line short circuits, overloads, and co-load currents. Constructed with insulating brackets and fuse tubes, each end of the bracket is fixed with static contacts, while the fuse tube holds moving contacts at both ends. This tube comprises an inner arc tube and an outer layer made of robust phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth. The pull load drop-out fuse boosts operational flexibility with auxiliary contacts and an arc chute that expertly manages open and co-load current situations.

Under normal operating conditions, the drop-out fuse remains in a steadfast closed position, maintained by the tension of the fuse tube. However, when a fault in the system arises, the fault current swiftly blows the fuse, initiating an arc formation. This arc burns the arc tube, releasing a substantial amount of gas. The resultant high pressure, along with a vertical wind through the pipeline, quickly stretches and elongates the arc. Upon the fuse's rupture, tension is lost, and the moving contact pivots outward, unlocking the mechanism and allowing the fuse tube to drop, thus creating an open circuit position. During load operations, an insulating rod is employed to disengage the moving contact. Initially, both moving and static contacts remain engaged. With continued pulling of the insulating rod, auxiliary contacts detach, creating an arc that extends within the hood slit. The arc cover releases gas, extinguishing the arc when the current reaches zero.

This versatile product is engineered for use on 10 to 35KV distribution lines, branching lines, and the primary side of distribution transformers. It provides reliable overload and short circuit protection, ensuring effective separation and combination of the rated load current.
The product model is meticulously prepared in accordance with JB/T8321-1996 Method of Type AC High-Voltage Fuses. Its parameters are crafted to meet the stringent requirements of GB15166.3-1994 High Voltage Fuses Expulsion Fuses standards. In instances where important parameters and configurations are not distinctly defined, compliance with JB/DQ2139-1986's interim technology mandates for 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses is ensured.
Drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout serve as vital high voltage protective devices for outdoor applications. These devices are seamlessly connected with the incoming feeder of a distribution transformer or distribution lines, safeguarding transformers and lines from short circuits and overloads, while managing on/off loading currents. Featuring insulator supports and a fuse tube construction, static contacts are affixed at both ends of the insulator support, while moving contacts are mounted at each end of the fuse tube. The fuse tube integrates an inner arc-extinguishing tube and is enveloped by a durable phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout enhances operational efficacy with reinforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure that facilitates seamless switching of on-off loading currents.

During normal operations, the fuse link secures the fuse tube in a closed position. In the event of a system fault, the ensuing fault current swiftly causes the fuse to melt, creating an electric arc. This prompts the arc-extinguishing tube to heat up and release a copious amount of gas, generating high pressure and driving the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, the mechanism locks, and the fuse tube drops out, transitioning to an open position. When a cutout is required during load operations, the operator uses an insulating operating bar to disengage the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contact maintain contact. As pulling progresses, the auxiliary contacts separate, sparking an electric arc that elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing gas explodes, extinguishing the arc as the current approaches zero.
