General
The drop-out fuse and load switch drop-out fuse are vital outdoor high-voltage protective devices. These fuses are strategically positioned on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as part of the distribution line links, providing robust protection against short circuits and overloads. The design includes an insulating bracket with static contacts at each end and a fuse tube, which comprises an inner arc tube and an outer phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth tube. The pull load drop-out fuse is enhanced with flexible auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, optimizing its functionality for open and load current conveyance.
During regular operations, the fuse tube remains tightly sealed through fuse tension. In the event of a failure, the fault current swiftly blows the fuse, forming an arc. The arc tube, heated by the arc, releases a large volume of gas, creating high pressure that forces the arc to rapidly elongate and extinguish. Post fuse blowout, the moving contact loses tension, activating the locking mechanism to release the fuse tube and establish an open circuit. For load disconnection, use an insulating rod to disengage the moving contact. Initially, the moving and static contacts remain connected; further pulling separates the auxiliary contacts, creating an arc that extends into the hood slit where it is safely extinguished when the current reaches zero.
Use and Standards
This highly efficient product is engineered for 10 ~ 35KV distribution line branch circuits and primary sides of distribution transformers. It is perfect for overload and short circuit protection, adeptly separating and combining rated load currents.
This product adheres to various esteemed standards: the product model follows JB/T8321-1996 for AC high-voltage fuses, while parameters are designed in accordance with GB15166.3-1994 for high voltage expulsion fuses. Although certain key parameters and configurations may lack clear definition, they are subject to amendments based on JB/DQ2139-1986 standards for 10 ~ 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses, ensuring precise technological requirements.
The drop-out fuse cutout, along with the load switching fuse cutout, are essential outdoor high voltage protective devices. They connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines to safeguard against short circuits, overloads, and facilitate on/off loading currents. Constructed with insulator supports and a fuse tube, static contacts are mounted on the support's ends, while the moving contact connects the fuse tube's ends. The tube features an inner arc-extinguishing component and an outer phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is equipped with resilient auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure to ensure efficient current switching.
Under standard conditions, the fuse link holds the fuse tube in a secure closed position. Should faults arise, the fault current will melt the fuse link immediately, causing an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing significant gas pressure to extinguish the arc. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses tension, activating the lock mechanism and causing the fuse tube to drop, thus opening the circuit. During load switching, operators should use an insulating bar to pull the moving contact; initially, the main and auxiliary contacts remain engaged. As pulling continues, the auxiliary contacts separate, producing an arc that elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure, which then expels gas to extinguish the arc when the current reaches zero.
