General
The drop-out fuse and pull load drop-out fuse are quintessential outdoor high-voltage protective devices, serving as the stalwart defenders of electric systems. Strategically installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or embedded within distribution lines, these fuses deliver exceptional defense against transformer and line short circuits and overloads, while meticulously managing open-circuit load currents. Their resilient design incorporates an insulating bracket and fuse tubes; the static contact is securely anchored at each end of the insulation bracket, while the moving contact is situated at the fuse tube's termini. Ingeniously engineered, the fuse tube boasts an inner arc tube encased by an outer phenolic paper tube or an epoxy glass cloth tube. Crafted for operational excellence, the pull load drop-out fuse is equipped with nimble auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, which significantly enhance its operational versatility, especially when handling open or co-load currents.
In routine operations, the drop-out fuse remains closed, maintaining tension on the fuse tube and fuse. Upon system fault occurrence, the fault current quickly melts the fuse, generating an arc. The arc's intense heat releases a surge of gas from the arc tube, escalating the internal pressure. This creates a vertical airflow along the pipeline, skillfully extending and lengthening the arc. Upon fuse rupture, the tension of the moving contact dissipates, activating the locking mechanism, which subsequently releases the fuse tube, guiding it into the open position. For load disconnection, an insulating rod is utilized to disengage the moving contact, initially maintaining its bond with the static contact. Continued rod pulling causes the auxiliary contacts to separate, forming and extending an arc within the enclosure slit. The arc cover's gas aids in extinguishing the arc when the current reaches zero.

Drop-out fuse cutouts and load switching fuse cutouts are indispensable for outdoor high voltage protection. Seamlessly integrated into the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, they offer indispensable defense against short circuits and overloads, efficiently managing on/off loading currents. The drop-out fuse cutout features insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube; static contacts are firmly positioned on either side of the insulator support, while moving contacts are situated at the fuse tube's extremities. The intricately designed fuse tube includes an inner arc-extinguishing tube, encapsulated by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or an epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is equipped with robust elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring proficient management of on-off loading currents.
Under standard operating conditions, the fuse link ensures that the fuse tube remains securely sealed. When faults occur, fault currents rapidly melt the fuse, producing an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing abundant gas. This high pressure propels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses tension, activating the locking mechanism, causing the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning the cutout to an open state. To switch off during cutout loading, operators use an insulating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged, but further pulling disengages the auxiliary contacts, generating an electric arc that extends within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing mechanism releases gas, ensuring the arc is extinguished as the current hits zero.
