General
The Drop-out Fuse and Pull Load Drop-out Fuse are essential for robust outdoor high-voltage electrical protection. They are strategically installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as pivotal links in distribution lines, serving as a shield against transformer and line short circuits, overloads, and facilitating the seamless separation and integration of current. Ingeniously designed, the drop-out fuse comprises an insulating bracket and fuse tubes, with static contacts secured at either end of the bracket and moving contacts at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube is a marvel of engineering with an inner arc tube and an outer phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth tube. Enhanced for flexibility, the Pull Load Drop-out Fuse has auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, crafted specifically for fluid current load operations.
In normal operation, the drop-out fuse maintains a closed position with the fuse tube securely tensioned. During a fault, the fault current blows the fuse, creating an arc that ignites the arc tube. This process decomposes large gas volumes, generating high pressure and a vertical wind path to elongate the arc. Once the fuse blows, the moving contact loses tension and rotates outwards, allowing the fuse tube to drop to a breaking position. For load pulling, an insulating rod pulls the moving contact, maintaining engagement with the static contact. Continued effort separates the auxiliary contacts, creating an arc within the hood slit, which is extinguished by the arc cover as the current reaches zero, allowing for safe and effective operation.
Use and Standards
This exceptional product is designed for use in 10 to 35KV distribution lines, including branch lines and on the primary side of distribution transformers. It provides durable protection against overloads and short circuits, while allowing efficient separation and combination of the rated load current, ensuring reliable and stable power distribution.
The design of this product adheres to the JB/T8321-1996 standards for AC high-voltage fuse preparation, with product parameters aligning with the GB15166.3-1994 high voltage fuses Expulsion fuses standards. Where standards lack detail on critical parameters, modifications follow the JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technology requirements for 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
The Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are premier outdoor high-voltage protective devices. They connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, playing a critical role in safeguarding transformers and lines from short circuit incidents and overloads, while efficiently managing the on/off load current. These fuse cutouts are engineered with insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts fixed on both sides and moving contacts at the fuse tube ends. This robust design includes an internal arc-extinguishing tube and an outer phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout features elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for seamless on-off load current handling.
In normal operation, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube is tightly closed. Upon a fault, the fault current melts the fuse, generating an arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing significant gas volumes, creating pressure, and elongating the arc across the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses tension, enabling the mechanism to unlock and the fuse tube to drop to an open position. For load switching, an insulating operating bar pulls the moving contact, initially maintaining engagement with the static contact. As the auxiliary contacts further separate, an electric arc forms, elongating within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing mechanism expels gas to extinguish the arc as the current zeroes, ensuring safe and effective operation.
