General
The Drop-out Fuse and Pull Load Drop-out Fuse stand as the epitome of outdoor high-voltage electrical protection solutions. These devices are strategically installed either on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or serve as vital support links within distribution lines. They provide indispensable protection against transformer and line short circuits, overload conditions, and allow for the seamless opening and co-loading of current. Ingeniously crafted, the drop-out fuse uses an insulating bracket and fuse tubes, with static contacts secured at each end of the bracket and moving contacts affixed to the fuse tube. The fuse tube design incorporates an inner arc tube along with an outer phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth tube. The Pull Load Drop-out Fuse offers elevated operational flexibility with auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, engineered for smooth current load operations.
Under normal operational circumstances, the drop-out fuse is firmly held in a closed state, with the fuse tube tensioned. In the event of a system fault, the fault current instantaneously blows the fuse, generating an arc that ignites the arc tube. This reaction decomposes large volumes of gas, creating high pressure within the tube and initiating a vertical wind path. This extraordinary mechanism rapidly elongates and stretches the arc. Post-blow, the moving contact releases tension, rotates outwards, and the locking mechanism disengages, enabling the fuse tube to drop into a breaking position. For load pulling, an insulating rod is used to draw the moving contact, maintaining engagement with the static contact. As effort continues, the auxiliary contacts part ways, forming an arc that is drawn within the hood slit. The arc cover, which contains gas, aids in arc extinguishment as the current reaches zero, ensuring safety and reliability.
Use and Standards
This exceptional product is meticulously designed for use in 10 to 35KV distribution lines, including branching lines and on the primary side of distribution transformers. It delivers robust protection against overloads and short circuits, simultaneously enabling efficient separation and amalgamation of the rated load current, ensuring optimal performance in diverse conditions.
The meticulous design of this product strictly adheres to the JB/T8321-1996 Method for AC high-voltage fuse preparation, while the product parameters are in line with GB15166.3-1994 high voltage fuses Expulsion fuses standards. Where details on critical parameters and configurations are sparse, modifications are made in accordance with the JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technology requirements for 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses, ensuring cutting-edge performance and adherence to the highest safety standards.
The Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are premier devices designed for outdoor high-voltage protection. They seamlessly connect to the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, playing a pivotal role in protecting transformers and lines from short circuit incidents and overload conditions, while proficiently managing the on/off load current. The drop-out fuse cutout consists of insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts firmly mounted on both sides of the insulator support and moving contacts situated at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube is engineered with an internal arc-extinguishing tube and an outer phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout also features elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient on-off load current management.
In standard operational scenarios, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube is securely tightened, maintaining a closed configuration. Upon fault detection, the fault current immediately melts the fuse, generating an electric arc. This causes the arc-extinguishing tube to heat and release a substantial volume of gas, producing high pressure and elongating the arc throughout the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses tension, allowing the mechanism to unlock and the fuse tube to drop out, switching to an open state. For load switching during cutout, operators utilize an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact remains engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact is further manipulated, an electric arc forms between the auxiliary contacts, which extends within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing mechanism releases gas to extinguish the arc as the current transitions through zero, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
