As the fuse blows, the moving contact releases, rotating gracefully outwards while the locking mechanism disengages, allowing the fuse tube to drop and reach a definitive breaking position. When load pulling is necessary, an insulating rod is used to withdraw the moving contact while maintaining engagement with the static contact. With continued force, auxiliary contacts separate, generating an arc stretched within the hood slit. The drop-out fuse cutout comprises durable insulating supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts strategically anchored on both sides and moving contacts expertly affixed at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube includes a sophisticated internal arc-extinguishing tube, complemented by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout also features high-performance, elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient on-off load current management.
In typical operational scenarios, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube remains securely closed. Upon fault detection, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, creating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing substantial gas volumes and creating high pressure to elongate the arc within the tube. Once melted, the moving contact loses tension, allowing the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to gracefully drop out, transitioning to an open position. For cutout load switching, operators deftly use an insulating operating bar to draw the moving contact. Initially, the main contact remains engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact is further pulled, an electric arc forms between them, extending within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing mechanism expels gas to efficiently extinguish the arc as the current passes through zero.
