General
The drop-out fuse and pull load drop-out fuse are robust outdoor high-voltage electrical protection devices. Installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or within the distribution line's support link, they offer exceptional protection against transformer and line short circuits, overloads, and facilitate the opening and closure of co-load currents. Crafted from an insulating bracket and durable fuse tubes, these fuses feature static contacts at each end of the bracket and moving contacts on the fuse tube ends. The fuse tubes are ingeniously constructed with an inner arc tube and an outer layer made from phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth tubes. The pull load drop-out fuse enhances flexibility with its auxiliary contacts and arc chute, ensuring efficient opening and closing of co-load currents.
During normal operations, the fuse tube and tensioned fuse form a secure closed position. When a system fault occurs, the fault current quickly causes the fuse to blow, generating an arc. This arc decomposes in the tube, releasing a substantial amount of gas, which creates high pressure and vertical wind along the pipeline, rapidly stretching and elongating the arc. Once the fuse blows, the moving contact loses tension and disengages, activating the locking mechanism to release the fuse tube, allowing it to drop and form a breaking position. For load pulling, an insulating rod is used to manipulate the moving contact. Initially, the moving and static contacts remain in contact. Continued pulling separates the auxiliary contacts, where an arc forms between them, stretching within the hood slit and surrounded by gas. As the current reaches zero, the arc extinguishes.
Use and Standards
This versatile product is indispensable in 10 ~ 35KV distribution line branches and on the primary side of distribution transformers. It provides unmatched overload and short circuit protection, and it seamlessly separates and combines the rated load current, ensuring stability and reliability in your electrical systems.
Our product model is expertly prepared following the JB/T8321-1996 Method for AC high-voltage fuses. We adhere to the GB15166.3-1994 standards for high voltage expulsion fuses, although these standards don't explicitly define key parameters and configurations. We make corrections according to JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technology requirements for 10 ~ 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses.
The drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout are premium outdoor high voltage protective devices. Designed for connection with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, they play a crucial role in safeguarding transformers and lines from short circuits and overloads, while efficiently managing the on/off current loading. The cutout consists of insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts fixed on the insulator supports' sides and moving contacts on the fuse tube's ends. The fuse tube boasts an inner arc-extinguishing tube and an outer layer of phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass. The load switching fuse cutout is enhanced with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring seamless on-off loading current management.
In standard operations, the fuse link is securely tightened, fixing the fuse tube in a closed position. Should system faults arise, the fault current promptly melts the fuse, generating a powerful electric arc. This heats the arc-extinguishing tube, causing it to release significant gas amounts, resulting in high pressure and arc elongation along the tube. After the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tightened strength, locking the mechanism and dropping the fuse tube, thus placing the cutout in an open position. When switching off during cutout loading is necessary, the operator uses an insulating operating bar to manipulate the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain engaged. As the auxiliary contact is pulled, an electric arc forms and lengthens in the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, with the generated gas quickly extinguishing the arc as the current nears zero.
