General
The drop-out fuse and pull load drop-out fuse are indispensable guardians of your high-voltage outdoor electric systems, meticulously crafted to safeguard against potential disruptions. Positioned strategically on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or integrated within distribution lines, these fuses provide robust protection against transformer and line short circuits and overloads, while also proficiently handling open-circuit load currents. Constructed with precision, they feature a durable insulating bracket and fuse tubes; each end of the insulation bracket is securely anchored with a static contact, while the moving contact is positioned at the extremities of the fuse tube for optimal performance. The fuse tube showcases a savvy design with an inner arc tube, encased by an outer phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth tube. Engineered for superior functionality, the pull load drop-out fuse is complemented by nimble auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, enhancing its flexibility and reliability, especially in managing open or co-load currents with ease.
In routine operations, the drop-out fuse remains steadfastly closed, maintaining the fuse tube and fuse in a taut state. Upon the occurrence of a system fault, the fault current instantaneously melts the fuse, generating an arc. The intense heat from the arc causes a rapid expulsion of gas from the arc tube, escalating the internal pressure. This action creates a vertical airflow along the pipe, adeptly stretching and prolonging the arc. As the fuse ruptures, the tension of the moving contact diminishes, activating the locking mechanism, which then releases the fuse tube, allowing it to transition into the breaking position. For load pulling operations, an insulating rod is utilized to disengage the moving contact, initially keeping it in connection with the static contact. Continued pulling with the insulating rod results in the auxiliary contacts disengaging, forming and elongating an arc within the hood slit. The arc cover's gas plays a crucial role in extinguishing the arc as the current approaches zero, ensuring seamless operation.

Drop-out fuse cutouts and load switching fuse cutouts are quintessential for outdoor high voltage protection, seamlessly integrated into the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines. They provide essential defense against short circuits and overloads, while efficiently managing on/off loading currents. The drop-out fuse cutout boasts insulate insulator supports and a meticulously designed fuse tube; static contacts are securely stationed on either side of the insulator support, while moving contacts are positioned at the ends of the fuse tube. The sophisticated design of the fuse tube includes an inner arc-extinguishing tube, enveloped by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is equipped with robust elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, expertly managing on-off loading currents with finesse and reliability.
Under normal operation, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube remains securely closed. Upon the advent of faults, fault currents rapidly melt the fuse, initiating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing a substantial amount of gas. This high-pressure scenario propels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link is melted, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the locking mechanism, causing the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning the cutout to an open state. During cutout loading, operators employ an insulating bar to disengage the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged, but further pulling results in the auxiliary contacts disengaging, generating an electric arc that elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Concurrently, the arc-extinguishing mechanism releases gas, ensuring the arc is extinguished as the current approaches zero, delivering consistent and reliable performance.
