General
The Drop-out Fuse and Pull Load Drop-out Fuse is a quintessential outdoor high-voltage protector for electrical systems. This component is meticulously installed on the high-voltage side of the distribution transformer or as the Support Link of the distribution line, serving as a sentinel against short circuits, overloads, and to facilitate current flow management. Constructed with an insulating bracket and fuse tubes, it features static contacts at each end of the insulation bracket and moving contacts on the fuse tube ends. The fuse tube is ingeniously designed with an inner arc tube and an outer layer made of phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth. For enhanced flexibility, the pull load drop-out fuse is equipped with auxiliary contacts and an arc chute to improve performance during current load operations.
In its standard operational state, the drop-out fuse maintains a closed position, secured by the tension of the fuse tube. However, in the event of a system failure, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, generating an arc. This arc ignites the arc tube, producing a significant amount of gas and pressure within the tube. This creates a vertical wind that rapidly stretches and elongates the arc. Once the fuse is blown, the moving contact loses tension and disengages, triggering the locking mechanism to release the fuse tube, causing it to drop and establish an open position. When it is necessary to manually pull the load, an insulating rod is utilized to disengage the moving contact. Initially, the moving and static contacts remain connected. By continuing to pull with the rod, the auxiliary contacts are separated, generating an arc between them. This arc is elongated within the hood slit, and the gas within the arc cover assists in extinguishing the arc when the current reaches zero.
Use and Standards
Our High Voltage Fuse Cutout Assembly is engineered for deployment in 10 ~ 35KV distribution lines, particularly in branching lines and the primary side of distribution transformers. It excels in providing robust protection against overloads and short circuits, while also facilitating the seamless separation and combination of rated load currents.
This cutting-edge product model aligns with the standards set by JB/T8321-1996 for type AC high-voltage fuses. The product parameters are meticulously crafted in accordance with GB15166.3-1994 standards for high voltage expulsion fuses. While the standards do not explicitly define critical parameters and configurations, enhancements have been made based on JB/DQ2139-1986 for 10 ~ 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuse interim technology requirements.
Both the Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout serve as integral outdoor high voltage protective devices. They are strategically connected with the incoming feeders of distribution transformers or lines to offer paramount protection against short circuits and overloads, while ensuring the efficient on/off loading of current. The Drop-out Fuse Cutout is ingeniously composed of insulated insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts firmly positioned on both sides of the insulator support and moving contacts on the fuse tube ends. The fuse tube itself comprises an interior arc-extinguishing tube, enveloped by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The Load Switching Fuse Cutout is enhanced with elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure to proficiently handle on-off loading currents.
Under normal operation, the fuse tube is securely tightened by the fuse link, forming a closed position. In scenarios where system faults occur, the fault current causes the fuse to melt instantaneously, initiating an electric arc. This arc heats the arc-extinguishing tube, resulting in the release of a substantial amount of gas, creating high pressure that propels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, causing the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning the cutout to an open position. During cutout loading, operators must use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain connected. As the auxiliary contact is pulled apart, an electric arc forms between the auxiliary contacts and is elongated within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing gas is expelled to extinguish the arc once the current passes through zero.
