General
The Drop-out Fuse and Pull Load Drop-out Fuse represent the pinnacle of outdoor high-voltage electrical protection solutions. Strategically crafted for placement on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as pivotal components in distribution lines, these devices stand as sentinels against transformer and line short circuits, as well as overload conditions, while enabling seamless current handling. Ingeniously designed, the drop-out fuse comprises an insulating bracket paired with fuse tubes, featuring static contacts anchored at both bracket ends and dynamic contacts at the tube's ends. The fuse tube's sophisticated design includes an inner arc tube, complemented by an outer layer of either phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth tube. Enhanced flexibility is a hallmark of the Pull Load Drop-out Fuse, complete with auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, ensuring smooth current load operations.
In everyday operations, the drop-out fuse remains tightly sealed, with its fuse tube held in tension. When a malfunction arises, the fault current acts swiftly to blow the fuse, forming an arc. The arc ignites the arc tube, leading to the decomposition of large gas volumes under high pressure, producing a vertical wind path that stretches and lengthens the arc effectively. Once the fuse blows, the moving contact releases tension and rotates outward, with the locking mechanism disengaging, allowing the fuse tube to descend and break the circuit. For load pulling, an insulating rod aids in pulling the moving contact, keeping contact with the static contact. With further effort, the auxiliary contacts separate, forming an arc between them. This arc, stretched within the hood slit, is extinguished as the arc cover's gas helps dissipate the energy when the current reaches zero.
Use and Standards
This exceptional product is meticulously designed for use in 10 to 35KV distribution lines, whether branching or on the primary side of distribution transformers. It delivers formidable protection against overloads and short circuits, ensuring the effective separation and combination of rated load currents.
The product's precision design aligns with the JB/T8321-1996 Method for AC high-voltage fuse preparation standards. Its parameters also meet the GB15166.3-1994 high voltage fuses Expulsion fuses standards. In cases where these standards do not fully define critical parameters and configurations, adjustments are made according to the JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technology requirements for 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses.
The Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are unparalleled outdoor high-voltage protective devices. Engineered to connect with distribution transformers or line incoming feeders, they are vital in protecting transformers and lines from short circuits and overloads, managing on/off load currents with precision. The drop-out fuse cutout consists of insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts securely mounted on either side of the support, and moving contacts at the fuse tube ends. Internally, the fuse tube features an arc-extinguishing tube complemented by an outer phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout also includes robust elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for smooth on-off load current operations.
Under normal circumstances, the fuse link ensures that the fuse tube remains tightly secured in a closed position. When a fault occurs, the fault current promptly melts the fuse link, generating an arc. This heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing a substantial volume of gas to build high pressure, stretching the arc along the tube. After the fuse link melts, the tension is released, allowing the mechanism to unlock, and the fuse tube drops to open the circuit. For load switching, operators employ an insulating operating bar to maneuver the moving contact. Initially, the main contact stays engaged with the auxiliary static contact. Further pulling of the auxiliary contact generates an arc, which elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Concurrently, the arc-extinguishing mechanism expels gas to quench the arc as the current dwindles to zero.
