Engineered with precision, these devices feature a robust insulating bracket and fuse tubes; static contacts are firmly anchored on each end of the insulation bracket, while moving contacts are expertly positioned at the fuse tube's extremities. The innovative design incorporates an inner arc tube enveloped by a resilient outer phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth tube. For superior operational performance, the pull load drop-out fuse is equipped with nimble auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, enhancing its versatility in managing open or co-load currents.

During standard operations, the drop-out fuse remains closed, ensuring the fuse tube and fuse are securely in place. Upon the occurrence of a system fault, the fault current rapidly melts the fuse, creating an arc with intense heat. This heat generates a forceful expulsion of gas from the arc tube, increasing the pressure within the tube. A vertical airflow is initiated along the pipeline, skillfully elongating and stretching the arc. As the fuse blows, the tension within the moving contact is relieved, activating the locking mechanism and releasing the fuse tube into a break position. For load pulling, an insulating rod is employed to detach the moving contact, while initially maintaining its connection with the static contact. Continued pulling with the insulating rod causes the auxiliary contacts to separate, generating and elongating an arc within the protective hood slit. The arc cover's gas effectively aids in extinguishing the arc as the current drops to zero.

Once the fuse link melts, the tension in the moving contact is released, triggering the mechanism to lock, and the fuse tube drops out, transitioning the cutout to an open state. To switch off during cutout loading, operators use an insulating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged, but further pulling disengages the auxiliary contacts, forming an electric arc that elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Concurrently, the arc-extinguishing mechanism releases gas, ensuring the arc is extinguished as the current reaches zero.
