General
The Drop-out Fuse and Pull Load Drop-out Fuse are the epitome of advanced outdoor high-voltage electrical protection solutions. These indispensable devices are strategically deployed either on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as vital components in distribution lines. They provide essential safeguards against transformer and line short circuits, overload conditions, and facilitate the seamless opening and co-loading of current. Ingeniously crafted, the drop-out fuse comprises an insulating bracket and fuse tubes, with static contacts securely affixed at both ends of the bracket and mobile contacts attached to the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube features an inner arc tube combined with an outer phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth tube. The Pull Load Drop-out Fuse elevates operational flexibility with auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, meticulously designed for flawless current load operations.
In typical operational conditions, the drop-out fuse is firmly held in a closed position with the fuse tube under tension. During system malfunctions, the fault current promptly blows the fuse, generating an arc that ignites the arc tube. This dynamic action leads to the decomposition of substantial gas volumes, creating high pressure within the tube, and forming a vertical wind path that efficiently stretches and elongates the arc. Once the fuse has blown, the moving contact releases its tension and rotates outward, while the locking mechanism disengages, allowing the fuse tube to drop and accomplish a breaking position. When load pulling is required, an insulating rod is employed to maneuver the moving contact, ensuring contact with the static contact. Continued effort causes the auxiliary contacts to separate, forming an arc between them that stretches within the hood slit. The gas-enclosing arc cover aids in extinguishing the arc as the current reaches zero.
Use and Standards
This exceptional product is tailored for use in 10 to 35KV distribution lines, including branching lines and on the primary side of distribution transformers. It offers unparalleled protection against overloads and short circuits while enabling the seamless separation and combination of the rated load current.
The product's meticulous design adheres to the JB/T8321-1996 Method for AC high-voltage fuse preparation, with parameters conforming to GB15166.3-1994 high voltage fuses Expulsion fuses standards. In instances where standards lack detailed definitions of crucial parameters and configurations, adjustments are made following the JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technology requirements for 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses.
The Drop-out Fuse Cutout and Load Switching Fuse Cutout are premier outdoor high-voltage protective devices. These devices are crafted to seamlessly connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, playing an instrumental role in safeguarding transformers and lines from short circuit incidents and overload conditions while adeptly managing the on/off load current. The drop-out fuse cutout comprises robust insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts precisely fixed on both sides of the insulator support and moving contacts installed at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube integrates an internal arc-extinguishing tube along with an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout also features reinforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for proficient on-off load current switching.
During normal operational scenarios, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube remains tightened, maintaining a closed position. Fault occurrences cause the fault current to swiftly melt the fuse, generating an electric arc. This process heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing a significant volume of gas, creating high pressure, and elongating the arc throughout the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, allowing the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to drop out, switching to an open position. For load switching, operators utilize an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact remains engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact is further pulled, an electric arc forms between the auxiliary contacts, which elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing mechanism expels gas to extinguish the arc as the current passes through zero.
