General
The Drop-out Fuse and Pull Load Drop-out Fuse are unparalleled solutions for outdoor high-voltage electrical protection. These cutting-edge devices are meticulously positioned either on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as vital links in distribution lines. They act as indispensable guardians against transformer and line short circuits and overload conditions, while also enabling seamless current operations. Ingeniously designed, the drop-out fuse combines an insulating bracket with fuse tubes, featuring static contacts firmly affixed at both bracket ends and moving contacts at the fuse tube's tips. The tube's innovative construction includes an inner arc tube complemented by an outer phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth tube. The Pull Load Drop-out Fuse offers increased flexibility through specially designed auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, ensuring effortless current load management.
During routine operation, the drop-out fuse maintains its closed position with the fuse tube tensioned securely. Should a system issue arise, the fault current swiftly blows the fuse, initiating arc generation. This arc triggers the arc tube, resulting in the production of large gas volumes that create high pressure within the tube, forming a vertical wind path. This extraordinary mechanism rapidly stretches and elongates the arc. Once the fuse has blown, the moving contact releases tension and swings outward, with the locking mechanism disengaging, allowing the fuse tube to drop to a breaking position. For load pulling, an insulating rod is used to maneuver the moving contact, ensuring contact with the static contact is maintained. Through continuous effort, auxiliary contacts separate, generating an arc stretched within the hood slit. The arc cover, rich in gas, assists in extinguishing the arc precisely as the current reaches zero.
Use and Standards
This exclusive product is meticulously crafted for application in 10 to 35KV distribution lines, encompassing both branching lines and the primary side of distribution transformers. It provides robust defense against overloads and short circuits while ensuring the effective separation and integration of the rated load current.
The sophisticated design of this product is in strict compliance with the JB/T8321-1996 Method for AC high-voltage fuse preparation. Additionally, product parameters align with GB15166.3-1994 high voltage fuses Expulsion fuses standards. In instances where standards lack detail on key parameters and configurations, adaptations are made following the JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technology requirements for 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses.

Expertly designed to connect with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, they play a pivotal role in shielding transformers and lines from short circuits and overload conditions while adeptly managing on/off load current. The drop-out fuse cutout comprises insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts securely fixed on both sides and moving contacts installed at the fuse tube's ends. The tube boasts an internal arc-extinguishing tube paired with an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout further includes robust elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient load current switching.
In standard operational conditions, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube stays tightly closed. When faults occur, the fault current immediately melts the fuse, creating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing a substantial gas volume, generating high pressure, and elongating the arc through the tube. Following the fuse link's melting, the moving contact loses tension, enabling the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning to an open position. For cutout load switching, operators utilize an insulating operating bar to draw the moving contact. Initially, the main contact stays engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact is further drawn, an electric arc forms between the auxiliary contacts, extending within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Concurrently, the arc-extinguishing mechanism expels gas, efficiently extinguishing the arc as the current reaches zero.
