General
The drop-out fuse and pull load drop-out fuse are essential outdoor high-voltage protective devices, specifically engineered to act as stalwart guardians of electrical systems. Installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or within distribution lines, these fuses provide robust defense against transformer and line short circuits, as well as overloads, while expertly handling open-circuit load currents. Their durable design includes an insulating bracket and fuse tubes, with static contacts securely mounted on each end of the insulation bracket. Meanwhile, the moving contacts are situated at the fuse tube’s extremities. This sophisticated fuse tube features an inner arc tube enveloped by an outer phenolic paper tube or an epoxy glass cloth tube. Engineered for superior performance, the pull load drop-out fuse is equipped with nimble auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, enhancing its operational versatility, especially when managing open or co-load currents.
During normal operations, the drop-out fuse remains closed, ensuring the fuse tube and fuse are taut. In the event of a system fault, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, creating a powerful arc. The arc's intense heat causes gas to surge from the arc tube, increasing the internal pressure. This process initiates a vertical airflow along the pipeline, effectively stretching and elongating the arc. As the fuse blows, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the locking mechanism, which releases the fuse tube, allowing it to transition into the breaking position. For load removal, an insulating rod is used to disengage the moving contact, initially keeping it connected with the static contact. With continued pulling using the insulating rod, the auxiliary contacts separate, forming and lengthening an arc within the hood slit. The arc cover’s gas facilitates the arc’s extinction as the current approaches zero.

This product boasts a clever design tailored for 10 ~ 35KV distribution lines, branching lines, and the primary sides of distribution transformers. It stands as a stalwart protector against overloads and short circuits, while deftly managing the separation and union of rated load currents.
In alignment with top-tier standards, the product model conforms to the JB/T8321-1996 Method for type AC high-voltage fuses preparation. It is meticulously crafted to satisfy the rigorous GB15166.3-1994 high voltage fuses expulsion fuses standards. In cases where standards ambiguously define critical parameters and configurations, precision adjustments are made according to JB/DQ2139-1986 requirements for 10 ~ 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses interim technology.
Drop-out fuse cutouts and load switching fuse cutouts are indispensable for outdoor high voltage protection. Seamlessly integrated into the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, they provide crucial defense against short circuits and overloads, managing on/off loading currents efficiently. The drop-out fuse cutout features insulated insulator supports and a fuse tube; static contacts are securely placed on either side of the insulator support, with moving contacts resting at the ends of the fuse tube. The sophisticated design of the fuse tube includes an inner arc-extinguishing tube, encased by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is equipped with robust elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring proficient management of on-off loading currents.
Under standard operating conditions, the fuse link ensures that the fuse tube remains securely closed. When a fault occurs, fault currents rapidly melt the fuse, creating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing abundant gas. This high pressure propels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses tension, triggering the lock mechanism, and the fuse tube drops out, shifting the cutout to an open state. To switch off during cutout loading, operators use an insulating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact stay engaged, but further pulling disengages the auxiliary contacts, generating an electric arc that elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing mechanism releases gas, ensuring the arc is extinguished as the current reaches zero.
