General
The Drop-out Fuse and Pull Load Drop-out Fuse are indispensable outdoor high-voltage protection devices for electrical systems. Installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as a support link on distribution lines, they provide robust protection against short circuits and overloads, facilitating open and co-load current operations. The design consists of a durable insulating bracket and fuse tubes, with static contacts mounted at both ends of the bracket and moving contacts affixed to the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube combines an inner arc tube with an outer phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth tube. For enhanced operational flexibility, the Pull Load Drop-out Fuse is equipped with auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, ensuring seamless open and co-load current handling.
Under normal operating conditions, the fuse tube forms a secure closed position with the fuse under tension. In the event of a system fault, the fault current swiftly blows the fuse, generating an arc. This arc ignites the arc tube, leading to the decomposition of large gas volumes, creating high pressure within the tube and initiating vertical wind along the pipeline. The arc is rapidly stretched and elongated. Post-blowing, the moving contact loses tension and is released, triggering the locking mechanism to free the fuse tube, which then drops to form a breaking position. For load pulling, the use of an insulating rod allows for the moving contact to be disengaged. Initially, the moving and static contacts remain connected; however, continued pulling separates the auxiliary contacts, producing an arc that stretches in the hood slit. As the arc cover contains gas, the arc is extinguished once the current reaches zero.
Use and Standards
This superior product is engineered for use in 10 to 35KV distribution lines, branch lines, and the primary side of distribution transformers, delivering reliable overload and short circuit protection. It efficiently facilitates the separation and combination of rated load current.
The product model adheres to JB/T8321-1996, a method for preparing type AC high-voltage fuses. Its parameters comply with GB15166.3-1994 standards for high voltage expulsion fuses. When important parameters and configurations are not explicitly defined, adjustments are made in accordance with JB/DQ2139-1986, which outlines interim technology requirements for 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses.
As outdoor high voltage protective devices, Drop-out Fuse Cutouts and Load Switching Fuse Cutouts are crucial for connecting to incoming feeders of distribution transformers or distribution lines. They are pivotal in protecting transformers and lines from short circuits and overloads, as well as managing on/off loading current. Comprised of insulating insulator supports and fuse tubes, with static contacts securely fixed on both sides of the support and moving contacts on the fuse tube's ends, the structure is robust. The fuse tube features an internal arc-extinguishing tube with an outer phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout boasts reinforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for effective switching on and off loading current.
In standard operation, the fuse link is tightened to maintain the fuse tube in a closed position. Upon encountering a system fault, the fault current promptly causes the fuse to melt, producing electric arcs. The arc-extinguishing tube is then heated, releasing a substantial amount of gas, generating high pressure, and propelling the arc along the tube. Following the fuse link's melting, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the locking mechanism and allowing the fuse tube to drop out, indicating an open position. For cutout loading switching, operators use an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain engaged, but continued pulling separates the auxiliary contacts, leading to an arc formation. This arc lengthens within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, and the arc-extinguishing gas expels the arc when the current hits zero, ensuring a smooth disconnection.
