General
The drop-out fuse and pull-load drop-out fuse are essential outdoor high-voltage electrical protection devices. Primarily installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as a supportive link on distribution lines, they safeguard against transformer and line short circuits, overloads, providing effective open and co-load current protection. Composed of robust insulating brackets and durable fuse tubes, the static contacts are affixed to the insulation bracket's ends, while the moving contacts are positioned at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself is an ingenious assembly of an inner arc tube enveloped by an outer phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth tube, designed to withstand the harshest conditions. Enhancing operational flexibility, the pull-load drop-out fuse features auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, enabling seamless open and co-load current handling.
In normal operations, the fuse tube is secured in a closed position, maintained by fuse tension. Upon system failure, the fault current swiftly blows the fuse, generating an arc that ignites the arc tube. This process decomposes substantial gas volumes, creating high pressure within the tube, which propels a vertical wind along the pipeline, ensuring rapid arc elongation and stretch. Following the fuse blow, the moving contact loses tension, triggering the locking mechanism to release the fuse tube, which then drops to establish a breaking position. For load pulling, an insulating rod is used to engage the moving contact, which remains in contact with the static contact initially. Further pulling separates the auxiliary contacts, generating an arc that stretches through the hood slit. The arc cover, infused with gas, extinguishes the arc at zero current, ensuring safe and efficient operation.

This state-of-the-art product is engineered for deployment on 10 to 35KV distribution line branches and the primary side of distribution transformers. It provides unparalleled overload and short circuit protection while seamlessly managing rated load current separation and combination.
The product conforms to model specifications outlined in the JB/T8321-1996 standards for type AC high-voltage fuses. Its parameters adhere to the GB15166.3-1994 standards for high voltage expulsion fuses. Although some crucial parameters and configurations are not explicitly defined in these standards, adjustments are made based on JB/DQ2139-1986 technical requirements for 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses, ensuring compliance and reliability.
Engineered for outdoor use, the drop-out fuse cutout and load switching fuse cutout serve as high voltage protective devices. During regular functioning, the fuse link secures the fuse tube in a closed position. In the event of system faults, the fault current immediately melts the fuse link, creating an electric arc. This causes the arc-extinguishing tube to heat and expel significant gas volumes, producing high pressure and directing the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses tension, unlocking the mechanism and causing the fuse tube to drop, transitioning the cutout to an open position. To switch off during load cutout, operators utilize an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact remains engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As pulling continues, the auxiliary contact separates, generating an arc that lengthens within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Concurrently, the arc-extinguishing gas disperses to extinguish the arc as the current approaches zero.
