General
The Drop-out Fuse and Load Pull Drop-out Fuse are sophisticated outdoor high-voltage protection solutions. They are strategically installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or linked to distribution lines to safeguard against short circuits and overloads, while facilitating smooth current operations. These fuses consist of a robust insulating bracket and a durable fuse tube, with static contacts secured at each end of the insulation bracket and moving contacts attached to both ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube is ingeniously crafted from an inner arc tube encased within an outer phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth tube. The Pull Load Drop-out Fuse is specially designed with enhanced flexibility, featuring auxiliary contacts and an arc chute that ensures seamless open/close current operations.
During normal operation, the drop-out fuse remains in a closed position as the fuse tube maintains tension. When a system fault occurs, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, generating an arc that ignites the arc tube, producing a large volume of gas and creating high pressure within the tube. This pressure generates a vertical wind along the pipeline, rapidly elongating and extinguishing the arc. Once the fuse melts, the moving contact loses tension, triggering the locking mechanism to release the fuse tube, which drops into an open position. To safely open the circuit, an insulating rod is used to pull the moving contact while maintaining contact with the static contact. As the contact is gradually separated, an arc forms between the auxiliary contacts, extending into the hood slit where the gas in the arc cover extinguishes the arc when the current reaches zero.
Use and Standards
This state-of-the-art product is designed for 10 to 35KV distribution lines and serves as a critical component for the primary side of distribution transformers. It provides robust protection against overloads and short circuits while adeptly handling the separation and combination of rated load currents.
Adhering to JB/T8321-1996 standards for AC high-voltage fuses, this product is engineered with precision according to GB15166.3-1994 standards for high voltage expulsion fuses. While these standards do not explicitly define all parameters and configurations, necessary adjustments are made in compliance with JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technical requirements for 10 to 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses.
Drop-out Fuse Cutouts and Load Switching Fuse Cutouts are high-performance outdoor high voltage protective devices. They seamlessly connect with incoming feeders of distribution transformers or distribution lines, offering superior protection against short circuits, overloads, and on/off loading currents. Each cutout comprises insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts securely affixed on either side of the insulator support and moving contacts installed at both ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube features an advanced inside arc-extinguishing tube, while the outer layer is constructed from a phenolic compound paper tube or an epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is meticulously designed with enforced elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring efficient switching of on-off loading currents.
Under normal conditions, the fuse link maintains the fuse tube in a closed position. In the event of a fault, the fault current immediately melts the fuse, generating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, causing it to release a vast amount of gas. This reaction creates high pressure and pushes the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, triggering the locking mechanism to release and drop the fuse tube, transitioning the cutout to an open position. For load switching during cutout operations, operators can utilize an insulating bar to pull the moving contact, initially maintaining contact with the auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact separates, an arc is formed, which is lengthened in the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. The arc is rapidly extinguished as the arc-extinguishing gas effectively blows it out during the zero-current phase.
