The drop-out fuse and pull load drop-out fuse are indispensable outdoor high-voltage protection devices, meticulously engineered to serve as the ultimate guardians of electrical systems. Strategically installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or within distribution lines, these powerful fuses provide a formidable shield against transformer and line short circuits and overloads, while expertly managing open-circuit load currents. Their robust and durable construction includes an insulating bracket and fuse tubes; static contacts are securely mounted at each end of the insulation bracket, and moving contacts are strategically positioned at the extremities of the fuse tube. Ingeniously designed, the fuse tube features an inner arc tube surrounded by an outer layer of phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth tube. Crafted for operational excellence, the pull load drop-out fuse is equipped with agile auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, significantly enhancing its operational flexibility, particularly in managing open or co-load currents.

In typical operations, the drop-out fuse ensures a closed position, maintaining the fuse tube and fuse in a taut state. When a system fault occurs, the fault current melts the fuse rapidly, creating an intense arc. The arc's heat generates an outflow of gas from the arc tube, escalating the pressure inside the tube. This process initiates a vertical airflow along the pipeline, skillfully stretching and lengthening the arc. As the fuse blows, the tension of the moving contact is released, triggering the locking mechanism, which subsequently releases the fuse tube, guiding it into the breaking position.
