General
The drop-out fuse and pull load drop-out fuse are essential outdoor high-voltage protective devices, meticulously designed to safeguard electrical systems. When strategically installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or along distribution lines, these fuses provide robust protection against transformer and line short circuits and overloads, while efficiently overseeing open-circuit load currents. Their durable construction comprises an insulating bracket and fuse tubes, with static contacts firmly anchored at each end of the insulation bracket and moving contacts positioned at the extremities of the fuse tube. Ingeniously crafted, the fuse tube features an inner arc tube enveloped by an outer phenolic paper tube or an epoxy glass cloth tube. With a focus on operational excellence, the pull load drop-out fuse is further enhanced with flexible auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, boosting its operational agility, especially when handling open or co-load currents.

In everyday operations, the drop-out fuse remains closed, keeping the fuse tube and fuse intact. When a system fault occurs, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, generating an arc. The intense heat from the arc causes a release of gas from the arc tube, increasing the pressure within. This initiates a vertical airflow along the pipeline, effectively stretching and lengthening the arc. As the fuse blows, the tension in the moving contact is lost, activating the locking mechanism, which then releases the fuse tube, transitioning it into the breaking position. For load pulling, an insulating rod is used to disengage the moving contact, maintaining its connection with the static contact initially. Continued pulling with the insulating rod causes the auxiliary contacts to detach, forming and extending an arc within the hood slit. The gas from the arc cover assists in extinguishing the arc when the current approaches zero.

In cases where standards may ambiguously define critical parameters and configurations, precise adjustments are made in accordance with JB/DQ2139-1986 requirements for 10 ~ 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses interim technology.
Drop-out fuse cutouts and load switching fuse cutouts are indispensable for outdoor high voltage protection. Seamlessly incorporated into the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or distribution lines, they provide crucial defense against short circuits and overloads, proficiently managing on/off loading currents. The drop-out fuse cutout features insulate insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts securely positioned on either side of the insulator support and moving contacts resting at the ends of the fuse tube. The sophisticated design of the fuse tube includes an inner arc-extinguishing tube, encapsulated by an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout boasts robust elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure, ensuring adept management of on-off loading currents.

Under standard operating conditions, the fuse link ensures the secure closure of the fuse tube. When faults arise, fault currents rapidly melt the fuse, forming an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing a significant amount of gas. This elevated pressure drives the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the tension in the moving contact is lost, triggering the locking mechanism, and the fuse tube drops out, transitioning the cutout to an open state. To switch off during cutout loading, operators utilize an insulating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged, but further pulling disengages the auxiliary contacts, creating an electric arc that elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Concurrently, the arc-extinguishing mechanism releases gas, ensuring the arc is extinguished as the current reaches zero.
