General
The drop-out fuse and pull load drop-out fuse serve as crucial outdoor high-voltage protection mechanisms for electrical systems. Positioned on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or as a supportive link in distribution lines, these devices act as guardians against short circuits and overloads, while facilitating the opening and closing of co-load currents. Constructed with a robust insulating bracket and fuse tubes, the static contacts are firmly anchored at each end of the bracket, while dynamic contacts are installed on each end of the fuse tube. The fuse tube itself is a composite of an inner arc tube and an outer layer made from phenolic paper or epoxy glass cloth tubes. In addition, the pull load drop-out fuse integrates enhanced flexibility with auxiliary contacts and an arc chute to optimize the management of open and co-load currents.
During normal operations, the drop-out fuse maintains a closed position through the tension in the fuse tube. When a system failure occurs, the fault current promptly blows the fuse, generating an arc. This arc ignites the arc tube, which releases substantial amounts of gas, creating high pressure and forming a vertical airflow within the tube. This process rapidly stretches and elongates the arc. Once the fuse blows, the moving contact loses tension, unlocking the mechanism and releasing the fuse tube to drop, thereby forming a breaking position. When it is necessary to pull the load, an insulating rod is used to disengage the moving contact, while the moving and static contacts remain in contact. Continuing to pull with the insulating rod separates the auxiliary contacts, causing an arc to appear and stretch within the hood slit. The arc cover contains gas, and as the current reaches zero, the arc is extinguished.
Use and Standards
This product specifically caters to 10 ~ 35KV distribution lines, branching lines, and the primary side of distribution transformers. It is essential for providing robust overload and short circuit protection, as well as facilitating the separation and combination of rated load currents.
The product model adheres to the JB/T8321-1996 Method for preparing type AC high-voltage fuses, while its parameters are crafted according to the GB15166.3-1994 standards for high voltage expulsion fuses. Although the standards lack explicit definitions for key parameters and configurations, corrections are guided by the JB/DQ2139-1986 interim technology requirements for 10 ~ 35KV outdoor high-voltage drop fuses.
Drop-out fuse cutouts and load switching fuse cutouts are invaluable outdoor high-voltage protective devices. They can be connected to the incoming feeders of distribution transformers or lines, primarily safeguarding transformers and lines from short circuits, overloads, and handling on/off loading currents. Comprising insulative supports and a fuse tube, the static contacts are secured on either side of the insulator support, while moving contacts are installed on the fuse tube's ends. The fuse tube features an inner arc-extinguishing tube and an outer layer made from phenolic compound paper or epoxy glass. Load switching fuse cutouts offer augmented elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient on-off load current management.
Under normal working conditions, the fuse link tightens the fuse tube into a closed position. In the event of a system fault, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, generating an electric arc that heats and expels a large volume of gas from the arc-extinguishing tube. This process creates high pressure and directs the arc flow along the tube. Once the fuse melts, the moving contact loses its tension, locking the mechanism and causing the fuse tube to drop out, resulting in the cutout reaching an open position. For switching off during cutout loading, an operator uses an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contacts remain connected. As the auxiliary contact is pulled, an electric arc forms between the auxiliary contacts, lengthening within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing process expels gas to extinguish the arc as the current reaches zero.
