Ingeniously crafted, the drop-out fuse consists of an insulating bracket and fuse tubes, with static contacts firmly affixed at each end and moving contacts elegantly embedded at the ends of the fuse tube. The construction features a sophisticated inner arc tube combined with a durable outer phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth tube. The Pull Load Drop-out Fuse distinguishes itself with enhanced flexibility, boasting auxiliary contacts and a meticulously designed arc chute for smooth current load operations.
In standard operations, the drop-out fuse is securely locked in a closed position with the fuse tube precisely tensioned. Upon detecting system faults, the fault current acts swiftly to blow the fuse, thereby generating an arc. This powerful arc ignites the arc tube, decomposing large gas volumes and producing high pressure within, creating a vertical wind path that effectively stretches and elongates the arc. As the fuse blows, the moving contact releases, rotating gracefully outwards while the locking mechanism disengages, allowing the fuse tube to drop and achieve a decisive breaking position. The drop-out fuse cutout comprises robust insulating insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts precisely fixed on both sides and moving contacts expertly installed at the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube features a sophisticated internal arc-extinguishing tube paired with an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout also incorporates enhanced, elastic auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure for efficient on-off load current switching.
In typical operational scenarios, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube remains tightly closed. Upon encountering faults, the fault current melts the fuse with remarkable speed, generating an electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing substantial gas volumes and creating high pressure to elongate the arc within the tube. Post-melting, the moving contact loses tension, enabling the mechanism to lock and the fuse tube to drop out, transitioning to an open position. For cutout load switching, operators utilize an insulating operating bar to draw the moving contact. Initially, the main contact remains engaged with the auxiliary static contact. As the auxiliary contact is further pulled, an electric arc forms between them, extending within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Simultaneously, the arc-extinguishing mechanism expels gas to efficiently extinguish the arc as the current traverses through zero.
