The drop-out fuse and pull load drop-out fuse are pivotal outdoor high-voltage protective devices, essential for the ultimate safeguarding of electrical systems. Typically installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or integrated into distribution lines as a supportive link, these fuses offer robust protection against transformer and line short circuits, overloads, and allow for smooth open-circuit load current facilitation. Constructed with a reliable insulating bracket and robust fuse tubes, the static contact is meticulously affixed to both ends of the insulation bracket, while the dynamic moving contact is precisely mounted on the fuse tube ends. The fuse tube itself, a marvel of engineering, is crafted from an inner arc tube enveloped by a durable outer phenolic paper tube or a sturdy epoxy glass cloth tube. The pull load drop-out fuse is innovatively equipped with adaptable auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, significantly enhancing operational flexibility when managing open-circuit or load currents.

During normal operation, the drop-out fuse maintains a steadfast closed position, with the fuse tube and fuse securely under tension. Upon system failure, the fault current swiftly melts the fuse, generating a powerful arc. The arc tube, subjected to the intense heat of the arc, releases copious amounts of gas, creating high pressure within the tube. This creates a vertical wind along the pipeline, effectively stretching and elongating the arc. When the fuse blows, the moving contact loses its tension, triggers the locking mechanism, releasing the fuse tube, which gracefully drops into the breaking position. To pull the load, an insulating rod is employed to disengage the moving contact, initially maintaining contact with the static contact. In the realm of normal working conditions, the fuse link ensures the fuse tube is reliably secured in a closed position. When system faults occur, the fault current rapidly melts the fuse, producing an intense electric arc that heats the arc-extinguishing tube and releases substantial gas, generating high pressure that propels the arc along the tube with force. Upon melting of the fuse link, the moving contact loses its tension, the mechanism locks, and the fuse tube gracefully drops out, transitioning the cutout into an open position with ease. To switch off during cutout loading, operators utilize a skillfully designed insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main contact and auxiliary static contact remain engaged, but further pulling deftly disengages the auxiliary contacts, generating an electric arc that elegantly elongates within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap. Concurrently, the arc-extinguishing mechanism releases gas to swiftly extinguish the arc as the current passes zero, ensuring operational safety and reliability.
