General
The Drop-out Fuse and Pull Load Drop-out Fuse are essential outdoor high-voltage protection devices tailored for electrical safety. These fuses are strategically installed on the high-voltage side of distribution transformers or serve as the Support Link in distribution lines. They are crucial for shielding transformers and lines against short circuits, overloads, and for managing open and co-load currents effectively. Constructed with an insulating bracket and fuse tubes, the drop-out fuse features static contacts affixed at both ends of the insulation bracket and moving contacts on both ends of the fuse tube. The innovative design of the fuse tube includes an inner arc tube and an outer phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth tube. The load drop-out fuse is further enhanced with flexible auxiliary contacts and an arc chute, improving its performance in managing open and co-load currents.
During normal operations, the drop-out fuse maintains a closed position thanks to the tension in the fuse tube. However, in the event of a system failure, the fault current promptly melts the fuse, creating an arc. This arc ignites the arc tube, leading to the decomposition of large gas volumes, creating high pressure within the tube, and generating a vertical wind along the pipeline. This swiftly stretches and elongates the arc. Post-fuse blow, the moving contact releases tension, disengaging the locking mechanism, dropping the fuse tube, and forming an open position. When pulling the load, the insulating rod is used to maneuver the moving contact. Initially, the moving and static contacts remain connected, but continued pulling separates the auxiliary contacts. This separation generates an arc between them, which stretches within the hood slit. The arc cover, filled with gas, extinguishes the arc as the current reaches zero.
Use and Standards
This sophisticated product is specifically designed for use in 10 ~ 35KV distribution lines branching lines and the primary side of distribution transformers. It is adept at providing overload and short circuit protection while efficiently managing the separation and combination of the rated load current.
The product model adheres to JB/T8321-1996, a standard for type AC high-voltage fuses. Additionally, product parameters align with GB15166.3-1994 standards for high voltage fuses and expulsion fuses. Although certain parameters and configurations are not explicitly defined, corrections are made according to JB/DQ2139-1986, which outlines interim technology requirements for 10 ~ 35KV outdoor high voltage drop fuses.
Drop-out Fuse Cutouts and Load Switching Fuse Cutouts are premium outdoor high voltage protective devices. They seamlessly integrate with the incoming feeder of distribution transformers or lines, providing robust protection against short circuits, overloads, and enabling efficient on/off loading current management. Each cutout features insulate insulator supports and a fuse tube, with static contacts fixed on both sides of the insulator support, and moving contacts situated on the ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube is ingeniously crafted with an inner arc-extinguishing tube and an outer phenolic compound paper tube or epoxy glass tube. The load switching fuse cutout is further enhanced with resilient auxiliary contacts and an arc-extinguishing enclosure that masterfully manages on-off loading currents.
Under normal working conditions, the fuse link tightly secures the fuse tube in a closed position. When a fault occurs, the fault current causes the fuse to melt quickly, generating an electric arc. This action heats the arc-extinguishing tube, releasing a significant amount of gas, which further produces high pressure and propels the arc along the tube. Once the fuse link melts, the moving contact loses its tension, unlocking the mechanism and allowing the fuse tube to drop out, thereby transitioning to an open position. When it's necessary to switch off during cutout loading, the operator uses an insulating operating bar to pull the moving contact. Initially, the main and auxiliary static contacts remain connected, but further pulling separates the auxiliary contacts, resulting in an electric arc. This arc stretches within the arc-extinguishing enclosure gap, and the arc-extinguishing process releases gas to extinguish the arc as the current reaches zero.
